"We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday - the house was amazing! Kitchen was well-stocked with serving dishes, pans etc. for entertaining a crowd. Loved the fireplace and the game room downstairs! Coastal vacations was great as wel!. They responded quickly to one issue we had and were super friendly! A pleasure to deal with. So glad this house was pet friendly - thank you! Only suggestions for improvement: ice machine/water dispenser on fridge does not work- not a big deal for us but would have appreciated some plastic ice trays. Second oven doesn’t work either- wasn’t counting on it so not a problem but might be for someoneLastly the full mattress on the 3rd floor bunk bed was pretty awful. Lumpy and bed creaked. Other beds were great! Overall great place! Would love to visit in the summer!! "

"Beautiful home with all the amenties. We utilized the boat dock, hot tub, kayaks, and game room. Fully equipt large kitchen. Had an amazing time. Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge was a quick 20 min drive. Bonus- Our dogs enjoyed being able to be a part of the vaction!"

"Robert’s retreat was new and an awesome place to stay. We weren’t thrilled with management company, we extended our stay and they locked us out and did not answer phone or emails for the whole entire week. "

"The home was great. Plenty of space and good kitchen. The location of the home was not easy to access other places and bay did not look swimmable, but other than that we loved our stay."

"We booked this property for the 2025 Pony Swim. All 7 of us had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out. This seems like a newer property and was lacking a few things based on other reviews so we came prepared. Overall we found plenty of supplies to get us by throughout the week. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle to provide ample peace and quiet but still close enough that we made it back to the island every morning. "

"Checkin was easy, once we received text with the code, we went to the house and unloaded our car for our stay. The kitchen had all that we needed to prep and cook our meals. We enjoyed our stay."

"The house and development were as described, but cleanliness was a major issue. Floors hadn’t been mopped, with 5–10 large dead bugs in plain sight. The couch was covered in pet hair, crumbs were under the cushions, and the counters had a sticky tan liquid—likely old beer—that appeared to have been sitting for days. Trash cans inside also contained a similar brown liquid.While hosing down the bins, we discovered a large hornet’s nest on the front porch. An adult was stung—thankfully not our two-year-old.We checked in at 4:15 PM on July 3rd and noticed the issues quickly. The property manager offered to send someone, but we assumed they were minor. After unpacking, we realized the problems were more serious. With no one available that evening, we spent the first night cleaning with supplies we purchased.We heard back the morning of July 4th, but no one was sent due to the holiday. On the third day, one of the owners reached out with an accusatory tone, claiming her inspection photos showed no issues and implying we caused the mess. We declined help since we were out and had already cleaned. Despite all this, she refused to refund the cleaning fee—even though we had to pay out of pocket and lost the first night of our stay cleaning. Poor communication and an unnecessarily combative tone from the owner."
