Staff very helpful and friendly. Steps away from the beach. Able to book tours directly with hotel. Not a lot of restaurant variety close by. Like most of zanzibar, water pressure was only slightly higher than pouring water from a bottle onto yourself but at least it was hot. Music from nearby hotels and restaurants. Electricity cuts - generator supposedly present but not turned on - part of the property had lights on but not my part.

I really enjoyed my stay at Cocolala Beach house. From the owner Carola, to the staff, they were all extremely friendly and helpful. Being that I took a solo trip for my birthday to Zanzibar, I really appreciated Carola in making sure my day was very special. If I had any questions or needed any assistance, someone was always around to help me. The hotel was always clean and fully supplied with water and toilet tissue. If you’re looking for a comfortable and safe hotel with a 2 minute walk to the beach, this is your place!

Perfect stay awesome A/C and breakfast

Owner of this hotel Sebastian and his wife goes far and beyond our expectation. We’re friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was awesome every day and air conditioning was superb… beach is 1 min walk and location has a lot of good restaurant. We highly recommend this place for couple and families. We had room for 4 and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Sebastian organized for us transport from airport when we arrived . He also organized tour which was reasonably priced and time wise very well calculated ( spice farm, prisoner island and Stone town) right before our departure from Zanzibar. I am glad I choose this hotel for our family of 4. We already missing Zanzibar.

Excellent property and hospitality!

I had an absolutely incredible stay at Cocolala Beach House in Zanzibar! From the moment I arrived, the warmth and kindness of the staff made me feel right at home. The manager went above and beyond, ensuring a welcoming and seamless experience—her hospitality truly set this stay apart. The room was wonderfully comfortable, with excellent air conditioning and an overhead fan, making it a perfect retreat after a day in the sun. One of the standout moments for me was when I had early morning scuba dives—since breakfast was served later, the manager thoughtfully prepared a to-go breakfast for me, a small but incredibly meaningful gesture that made my experience feel truly 5-star. Beyond the fantastic service, I loved the outdoor space—a peaceful porch and well-kept surroundings, ideal for relaxing. The location is unbeatable, just steps from the beach and within walking distance of amazing restaurants. If you're considering where to stay in Zanzibar, I highly recommend Cocolala Beach House for its comfort, charm, and exceptional hospitality. I would absolutely stay here again!

The property owner went above and beyond to make the stay as easy as possible. He arranged taxi’s, places to store luggage, and had a connection for anything you wanted to do. The property was just across from the beach and great spots to eat and drink! Would stay here again!

An absolute perfect stay and amazing location! Right by the beach with tons of incredible restaurants and shopping including art galleries with gorgeous local artworks for sale. The owner and the staff are among the warmest kindest humans I have ever met in a hotel setting and I truly enjoyed interacting and engaging with them. Home away from home Cozy, welcoming and everything I needed - that’s my stay at Cocolala in a nutshell. Huge, clean and well equipped bedroom and bathroom. A peaceful hotel that is literally steps to a great swimming beach (you can swim seaweed free any time if day) restaurants, activities and shops. Huge hot breakfasts (I could never finish at one sitting). Hammocks in the garden for lazing around. Most of all Cora, Mohammed and Sebastian were gracious hosts. They gave me helpful recommendations for where to swim, local places to eat and the best prices for beach chairs. They connected me with a Budabuda (motorcycle taxi) so I could explore town. And all at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Cocolala. I’ll be staying there if I return to Zanibar.

Das Hotel wird von einer deutschen Familie geleitet. Das Personal ist äußerst höflich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war großzügig und sauber, verfügt über einen Kühlschrank und es war ein Stromreisestecker vorhanden. Über die Rezeption können auch Bootsfahrten gebucht werden. Das Hotel verfügt über keine eigenen Strandliegen aber einen direkten Strandzugang. Im benachbarten Restaurant (Blue Sea Restaurant) können Liegen kostenfrei benutzt werden, falls man etwas isst. Darüberhinaus gibt es 10% Rabatt für Cocolala Gäste. Der feinsandige Strand war gepflegt und sauber. Verkaufsstände und sonstige Attraktionen (Schildkröten, Zoo, Aquarium etc.) sind fußläufig erreichbar. Es gibt kein Frühstücksbuffet, aber ausreichend und abwechslungsreich Frühstücksteller. Falls man morgens eine Bootstour macht wird ein kleines Frühstückspaket gerichtet. Auf dem Gelände gibt es einen bewachten Parkplatz. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können das Hotel weiterempfehlen.

Le foto non rispecchiano la struttura dove siamo stati mandati, che era una specie di area di serie B, mentre le foto di presentazione mostrano altre soluzioni. Il bagno non scaricava: abbiamo dovuto aprire e richiudere ogni volta il tappo dello scarico.
