    The Silver Reef #2 is a new, immaculate, luxuriously furnished 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 story corner condo spanning the 2nd and 3rd floors of the brand new Silver Reef Residences on Grand Cayman’s scenic Northeast Coast.

    Conveniently located in Old Man Bay, this modern oceanfront retreat is typically about a 30–35 minute drive from Owen Roberts International Airport in George Town, and sits within a thoughtfully designed, palm lined community.

    With resort style amenities, and a quieter, less traveled setting, gives easy road access to Rum Point, North Side, and East End via Frank Sound Road.

    BEACH & WATER ACCESS (PLEASE READ)

    This condo is directly oceanfront and offers spectacular, unobstructed views of turquoise water and unforgettable sunrises. The setting feels very close to the sea and is perfect if you value dramatic ocean views and a tranquil coastal atmosphere.

    However, the shoreline and water entry here are natural and somewhat challenging, and may not be ideal for guests seeking soft, sandy walk in swimming:

    • Recent storms have deposited coral rocks along the shoreline directly in front of the property (as shown in the listing photos). These rocks form a natural barrier that helps protect the coastline from erosion and cannot be removed.

    • There is no soft, sandy walk in beach immediately in front of the condo. Entering the water involves navigating uneven, rocky terrain.

    • The Northeast Coast often experiences livelier, rougher water conditions. Water entry can be uneven and slippery, with sharp rocks and possible sea urchins, so sturdy water shoes or aqua boots are strongly recommended.

    • On calmer days, some experienced guests enjoy snorkeling just offshore, but all swimming and water activities are at your own risk, and guests should always check daily sea conditions before entering the water.

    IF EASY, CALM, SANDY SWIMMING IS A PRIORITY, there are several great options within a short drive:

    • North Side Public Beach – A local favorite with a sandy shoreline, shallow entry, restrooms, and picnic tables; reached via the North Side road off Frank Sound Road, typically around 10–15 minutes’ drive from Silver Reef.

    • Rum Point Beach – Classic North Side beach club setting with sandy entry, beach chairs, and water sports, usually about a 10–15 minute drive depending on traffic and exact route.

    • Kaibo Beach – Sandy beachfront with casual and upscale dining at Kaibo Beach Bar & Grill and Upstairs, generally about 10–15 minutes away by car.

    Farther afield, guests can also visit Seven Mile Beach on the west side (plan roughly 45–55 minutes’ drive from Silver Reef via Frank Sound Road and the main West Bay Road corridor, depending on traffic).

    LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY

    • Silver Reef Residences are located on Grand Cayman’s Northeast Coast, approximately 35–40 minutes by car from Owen Roberts International Airport in George Town under typical conditions.

    • The property sits just off Frank Sound Road, the main “cut through” connecting the island’s South Coast to North Side, Rum Point, and all the way to East End, making it easy to explore multiple parts of the island by car.

    • Rum Point Beach, Kaibo, and North Side Public Beach are all within about a 10–15 minute drive, offering sandy swim spots, dining, and watersports.

    • A rental car is strongly recommended so guests can comfortably reach beaches, restaurants, and attractions across the island at their own pace.

    • Over the Edge Café – Approximately a 5–10 minute drive east along North Side Road for casual local dining with waterfront views.

    GROCERIES, SUNDAY CLOSURES & PRACTICAL DETAILS

    Nearby grocery options such as Foster’s Express and Chisholm's Grocery are about 15 to 20 minutes away by car. Larger supermarkets are also convenient stops on the drive from the airport.

    Supermarkets are closed on Sundays in Cayman, though most restaurants and gas stations remain open, and some gas stations sell liquor on Sundays. Grocery items can also be pre-ordered and delivered before arrival.

    Chisholm’s Market is on the Northside, and is open 7 days a week, and is well stocked with food, supplies, beer, wine & liquor. 15 minutes from the condo.

    TRANSPORTATION

    • A rental car is highly recommended for this area so guests can easily explore Grand Cayman at their own pace.

    • Many guests book directly with trusted local providers such as Marshall’s Rent-A-Car, Andy's Rent-A-Car, or compare options through Kayak.

    • Public transportation is a short walk away, having a car offers the greatest convenience and flexibility.

Very accurate listing. Nice clean property with an incredible view. Lots of little things provided that made it convenient. Balcony and and roof top were great. Bring something for mosquitoes in the evenings. It was our first time to grand cayman so it took a while to get used to the roosters. We only saw a few people on the property the whole week which made it feel like we had a private pool/beach.

This property is beautiful . Lives up to the description. Beautiful beachfront ocean view. The place was very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. We loved that it was away from all of the crowds. Though the beach isn't swimmable, the pool is great. And they are so many public beaches to visit. Our favorite was Governor's beach on 7 mile, pack a cooler (which the host provides!) and spend the day. We also enjoyed starfish point, spots beach & Smith's barcadere.

Great condo

We enjoyed our month at Silver Reef 2. It is a great condo and a great location. We have stayed at both 7 mile beach area and the east end and much prefer the quiet east end/northside of the island. The condo is in excellent condition and is well equipped. The beds are comfy and the kitchen has nice cookware and dishes (could use some large plastic tumblers to take upstairs) The only downside is that the salt air has corroded the outdoor kitchen and some of the outdoor furniture. We got rust stains on several clothing items. It is a shame, but not much you can do with the salt air. The pool area is lovely and the people we met were all friendly. The property managers were great to work with and very communicative. We plan to return to Silver Reef.

Quiet side of Cayman

We really enjoyed this condo and getting away from the crowds at Cayman. New construction and everything in the unit was as advertised except we could not find snorkel gear and the property manager was unable to resolve that concern after a couple of communication attempts. The small exercise room is also still under construction, so not available during our stay. Rental car is a 100% must. Major grocery shops and most excursions are closer to the airport; 30-40 minutes away. On the east end (north side) we enjoyed meals at the Wyndam resort (10 min) (you can rent snorkel gear but not their chairs), Rum Point (12 min) (chairs are free, but you can't take your own food/drink), and Over the Edge (3 min). This is a private beach, but not ideal for swimming as it's rocky and there are numerous sea urchins nestled in the rocks. If you have a kayak or protective footwear you could venture out, but it's not really a swimming/wading beach like 7 mile beach where the resorts are. It also wasn't obvious to us prior to arrival, but each building has two units. The ground floor is one, and then this rental is the second floor and the rooftop area. No complaints, except that all the living space is really on a single level. We used the rooftop space extensively! The unit was nicely furnished, including several consumables we often have to purchase for vacation rentals: laundry/dish soap, paper products, etc.
