We loved this house and the beach! It has sand for us shell searchers and reef for the snorkelers in our group. We even found lobsters! We loved how close it is to Star Fish Point. Our only snafu was the refrigerator/freezer were not working. We realized it the day after our arrival (after getting our groceries the night before). Thankfully the manager responded promptly with coolers and ice to get through until Monday when he had a serviceman come to repair.

The location and beach view was just as we expected. The house was the most well equipped VRBO we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many all over the US and Caribbean islands. The property manager was very responsive and kind. We were a bit disappointed that the railing on the upper deck had not been replaced and was not as pictured, but it DID NOT interfere with our overall enjoyment of the property. We would most definitely recommend to others and will plan to stay there again in the future!

It’s like having your own private island!

This house is amazing! Such a great location on the north side of the island where there’s barely any traffic and none of the crowds. The landscaping is beautiful in the front and backyard and the trees ensure that you’re completely secluded and have their own private retreat. The house was immaculately clean and so comfortable… Especially the beds.! The pool was pristine and having coffee on the balcony every morning, while listening to the waves, was the perfect relaxation station! We enjoyed the restaurants down the road at rum point and would highly recommend this place to couples or families as all of the rooms have their own bathroom.

Great spot for graduation trip!

Loved the location and the grounds. Everything was exactly as advertised. We used the pool, the grill, and the beach everyday. The hammock had been damaged in a storm so we missed that! We are not cat people, and I am allergic, so we would have preferred to not have the friendly cats hanging around the property. Fortunately, my daughter was willing to feed them. It was an amazing week!

Quiet, peaceful, beautiful spot on North Side!

We love this part of the island, and the Parrotise house was a great relaxing home base to enjoy the North Side. We especially appreciated the privacy and quiet, the easy snorkeling and beach, and the pool.

Very nice stay

We had a very nice stay. Everything was as described in the listing. The only minor issue we encountered was the TV in the master was not working. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant stay. The beach is rocky, but we knew to expect that. Very quiet and peaceful. I would return again.

Nice Villa - But Beach and Snorkeling Access Not as Expected

The villa was as pictured, comfortable and includes most amenities one could desire. Roland was great and is a true asset to the property. My husband and I have rented ~ 30 private homes/villas throughout the Caribbean. We are avid divers, and we have “shore snorkeled” the absolute best of the Caribbean. This is not, in any way shape or form, a premium shore snorkeling property. I have no doubt that on some rare occasions when the tide is just right and the winds are totally calm, you could snorkel the iron shore and sea grass and view (and enjoy) sea life. Premium shore snorkeling is - fin kicks to a reef, reasonable depth, generally calm waters - think Bonaire, Curaçao, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, St. John, etc. A main reason we selected this property was the described shore snorkeling availability, which is flat out not present here. The amount of trash on the beach in front of this rental was astounding and unacceptable. We have rented enough Caribbean properties to understand trash washes onto beaches. But we have never rented a villa at this price point where the beach was not combed for trash removal (at least) prior to check in. We spent two hours and collected multiple 7-gallon bags of trash the first day (including a hypodermic needle, broken glass, tooth brushes, so many plastic bottles and bags, etc.). Clearly, the trash had not been cleared for months, as after we attended to trash duty, we were left only needing to grab and toss a few items per day.

Nice experience

The home is beautiful and very clean. The kitchen is stocked with quality equipment. There was an ice machine and wine fridge which was a very nice surprise. Plenty of seating and great AC. On the downside, we were surprised to see so much accumulated sea grass piled on the beach at the home as well as washed up trash. The sea grass was not in the photos so it was a bit misleading since we thought we’d be spending plenty of time on this beach. We certainly didn’t want to swim in water surrounded by sea grass coming in with the waves. The various parrot rugs were adorable but turned into a bit of a safety hazard. There was little to no grip on the rugs and we tripped on them multiple times. We ended up folding some of them up and slipping under the sofa. Recommend removing the artificial foliage above the cabinets. Although a nice decorative touch, it serves as a dust collector and not ideal when preparing food below while opening cabinets and shaking up the dust onto our food. During an overnight storm, water dripped on bed from the ceiling that was previousl patched in one of the bedrooms. The other primary en-suite had water coming in the window. I noticed a review from November 2023 about the leaky window and it’s still a problem in June 2024. While the maintenance team was very friendly and quick to respond, it seems that their only option is to patch the problem rather than fix it. Nice experience but some issues were avoidable with preexisting patches that failed.

Paradise at Parrot-ise

We had a great 7 day stay at Parrot-Ise, we love the proximity to Rum Point. Plenty of beach towels and sand toys. The puzzles will tax you the entire week you’re there!! Cayman Kitties and Chickens for everyone! It was great having the pool and beach. Beach was absolutely amazing for snorkeling. House is well conditioned with a functional layout. Keurig worked great all week, coffee was great! Ice maker really came in clutch for all us ladies and our drinks. The sun hits just perfect over the pool to get you a tan where people will think you’re a local. Overall, no complaints and we’ll definitely be coming back!! Limited stairs makes the house accommodating for all ages! Grocery store right around the corner too!

House was clean, safe and well lit. Pool was fantastic! Appreciated the abundance of beach towels. So nice! Privacy of rooms with individual baths was amazing! Absolutely would book again! Screen in porch makes safety of littles perfect! No bugs!

Great vacation week!

We had a great week at Parrot-Ise. Property is exactly as shown in pictures. Note there is not a k-cup machine, recently replaced and now only a drip coffee maker. Not a big deal, just note so you don’t bring your k cups. Plenty of room for 3 couples. Beach was a little disappointing due to a lot of seaweed, sea grass and rocks making it very difficult to go in. I don’t know is seaweed is only seasonal but there was a lot built up so if seasonal, it is not really removed. Definitely bring water shoes if you want to try to go in. But, beautiful sitting by the pool watching the ocean. Property was very clean but can use a bit of TLC, nothing major. Window in downstairs bathroom leaks a lot during rain, as noted in a November review and still not fixed. Nothing that would stop me from recommending. Quite windy during our stay so we couldn’t keep the gas grill lit so didn’t use but outside grill area very nice! Very good kitchen supplies in the house. Chisolm’s grocery is a small but very adequate store about a 5 minute drive away. Also about a 5-10 minute drive to Rum Point Club and Kaibo beach. Recommend renting a car if staying here as there isn’t really anything in walking distance but driving was not that hard on the opposite side of the road! We were very happy with our stay here!

Great stay for 40th Birthday

We spent our days at another house for our friends 40th bday, but this housewas great. Clean and easy location on the north side of the island. Cats and chickens were a cute addition. House needs to be updated a little bit. Center fan in master upstairs needs to be replaced. Right bedroom closest to entry door needs a new bed. Very small things. Like I said beautiful location, great beach, nice water. Friendly management.

Beach Vacation

The property was what we expected from the listing. There was enough room to accommodate our party of 6 adults. The kitchen was stocked very well with everything we needed for cooking meals. Several things that could be improved are - in one of the lower bedrooms the bathroom window leaks when it rains getting water on the floor. Also was not able to get wifi out on the pool deck as was specified in the listing. Some of the bedding covers need to be replaced very worn. Also there was alot of seaweed that accumulated on the beach during our stay, would be nice if that could be removed. We had trouble accessing the water due to seaweed and trash. Not sure if that was due to the time of year we were there? We enjoyed driving around the island eating at local eateries. And enjoyed Seven Mile beach.

Best vacation place yet. The ocean is somewhat shallow inside the reef and I did get to meet a shark up close. It came up from the bottom to “meet” me but a hard kick to the head luckily made it leave. Lucky for me. The home has everything one would want for a vacation.

Quiet North Side Retreat

Wow! Parrot-ise is amazing! Mr. Roland had everything ready 2 hours early and met us with a house tour. My dad, husband, sister, and brother-in-law were looking for a quiet house to have a family get-together, and this property did not disappoint. There really are three masters (and a smaller bedroom) with oceanfront sliding glass doors onto porches. All the bedrooms have attached bathrooms, and there are so many places to sit, grill, swing, and lay in a hammock (and pet/feed a local cat). The pool is pristine, and right on the private beach, we swam every day and snorkeled most. It's a short drive to Rum Point and to Tortuga Divers (our favorite). We cooked several nights in the fabulous kitchen (ok, we really mixed rum drinks). This is not in the middle of the Seven-Mile Beach scene, but that is exactly what we wanted. We couldn't have designed anything better. Thank you!

A Perfect Parrot-ise Vacay!

Where to start! Our best family vacation we've ever been on! Our family of 3 generations just had the most wonderful vacation at Parrot-ise! Everything was just fantastic-very comfortable, well stocked, super clean & freshly scented. The remoteness of the home on the North shore unexpectedly served to keep all of us together instead of people roaming off to different places separately. Our other family members rented 2 other homes just to the east and an easy beach walk away. This home has everything you could need -a fully equipped kitchen, lots of seating in the family areas and more towels than you could wish for. The grandchildren & adults loved the pool & the beach -complete with floats, sand toys and snorkel gear. We enjoyed the cats, chickens & even fishing the little crabs out of the pool in the morning.(the 3 yr old granddaughter's favorite morning activity along with juice & coffee on the swing at sunrise!). Roland the property manager is a gem!!- He always answered our calls promptly & made sure to handle the issue quickly and with a warm smile and a chuckle. They even supplied a pack n play for the baby. We enjoyed the Kaibo Yacht Club & Over The Edge restaurants. We rented standup paddleboards from White Sands watersports with free delivery & pickup for fun on the water. We highly recommend Indepth Watersports for scuba diving or for private charters to snorkel and go to stingray city. Top notch, friendly and professional service always! Can't wait to return!

Great House!

My family and I enjoyed our stay on Rum Point. The house was very clean, spacious and was equipped with everything we needed for the week. My only complaint is the seaweed on the beach and the location. I wasn’t aware Rum Point is under renovation so there’s not many restaurants nearby and 7 mile beach is about an hour drive away. However, all in all, we enjoyed this house and would love the opportunity to come back. The owner was also very responsive kind and helpful. He’s probably the best host we have ever had.
