Kookaburra Lakehouse is a purpose-built house nestled among the rain forest trees on a 5-acre property overlooking a small lake. Relax and unwind on the large deck and soak up the sounds of nature in this peaceful and tranquil bush setting. The property is close to town, the golf course and Baroon Pocket Dam. Kookaburra Lakehouse is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom house providing a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area. The kitchen has high end appliances, with ample cupboard and stone benchtop space.

The back wall of the living area is made up of a full width window and sliding door that opens up on to the large deck overlooking the lake.

The bedroom has sliding door access to the deck and overlooks the lake, the rain forest and macadamia trees. It has its own ensuite bathroom with large shower and a Queen bed.

There is a wood burning stove in the living area and enough wood for the cold nights in winter is provided. There is also a reverse-cycle air-conditioner in the bedroom.

* We provide a delicious breakfast basket filled with local and home-made produce. From freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries to eggs from our chickens and fresh local seasonal fruit to milk and yoghurt from Maleny's award-winning dairy and cheese factory; breakfast at On Burgum Pond is the perfect way to start your day.

* If you require more wood, you are able to purchase from us, IGA, Woolworths and the Service Stations.

* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks, and we have a wastewater treatment plant. The house has its own tank, and the water is filtered, so perfectly safe to drink.

* Pets are allowed and we charge a pet fee. As we are semi-rural and part of a wildlife corridor, the greater property is not fenced, and all dogs are to remain on lead at all times when on the grounds. Kookaburra's back deck is fenced.

* There are pasture-fed free range chickens on the property
