"The room & amenities were very basic but functional. A little strange that check-in was a hotel 20 walking minutes from the apartment building. Location was terrific - just outside the castle grounds and beautiful park and a short walk to the Higashi Chaya geisha district. The residents were friendly and helpful and friendly and the city was very lovely and not the bustle of Tokyo"

We were within a few hundred meters of excellent dining options. One of those was Izumino, whose amazing owners stuffed us with sashimi and crab cakes and spoiled...
