"This property gave us and a fellow family lots of space to enjoy the Sicilian sun. The pool was great as was the view towards the surrounding hills and the sea. It was nice to experience a somewhat cooler climate than down the sea. On the downside, it took us half an hour to drive up and down the hill to get fresh bread in the morning. The property is somewhat run-down with the odd gadget not working. The owner tried to fix everything though. This is not a luxury property but I would recommend...

"First thing to say is you'll probably need a car as it's about a 40 minute walk to Castelbuono - and coming back is quite steep walking. The upside of that is you are in a very tranquil location. It's idlyllic. Hardly a sound apart from birdsong and the occasional gentle charming clang of a cowbell as (presumably) some nearby cows were being led out to pasture I booked this place because its advert focused on tranquility - and it really lived up to that. "We spent a week in beautiful Castelbuono. The view from the apartment is breathtaking and the area is calm. It was the perfect holiday for relaxing and playing with the kids in the pool. The host was great and had lots of suggestions for little trips. We will for sure return! :)"

"We had a brilliant stay at this villa, tucked away in the Sicilian hills, with wide sea views from the mountainside. It’s quiet, private, and has the feel of a low-key luxury retreat — clearly the result of a lot of care and planning. One bit of advice: hire a small car. We didn’t, and the narrow roads made things unnecessarily awkward. The house sits on a large plot and feels properly secluded. The outdoor areas are cleverly laid out — you can always find sun or shade without moving furniture...

"Wow. What an incredible holiday we had! We arrived in the early hours of the morning due to a flight delay and it was no problem and the hosts happily showed us how everything worked. The villa is just stunning, we spent the majority of the days in the pool with our three children- 10, 8 and 4. The steps going the full width of the pool means they could all stand up at some point which was incredibly helpful! Any time a gardener had to come we were given plenty of notice by the hosts also.
