Apartment is spacious, clean with modern appliances and located immediately behind the famous Le Negresco Hotel, one block from the Promenade des Anglais. Almost immediately across the street is the Musee Massena where we witnessed some Napoleonic re-enactors along with a brass band during one afternoon of our stay. It's a long walk but very manageable to reach the Nice Ville train station.
The check in process was more awkward than it should be. I didn't get instructions for the lock box until just immediately before arriving in Nice. I would much prefer to get those instructions at least 24 hours in advance. When traveling, communications isn't always the best, and cell service drops when traveling by train due to tunnels and just poor cell signal.
Some hints for future guests. The front door employs a magnetic catch and is opened with a key fob rubbing against a large button to the left of the door. You need to push the front door fairly hard to open it. Don't be a wimp. Second, the lock to the door of the apartment requires that you push the key in all the way. There seems to be a spring mechanism in the lock. If you merely insert the key without pushing it in, you cannot unlock the door. Last, the internet connection is provided with a QR code on the router. Works fine for a cell phone, not so well for a laptop.
All in all, one of the better apartments I've rented on this European trip.
