Our stay was awesome. Room was exactly as pictured. Very comfortable for ourselves and our dog. Staff was more than friendly. Great location. Would stay again.
Very friendly staff throughout and made a fuss of our dog. Excellent dinner & breakfast Wonderful outside dining/drinking area. Good location less than an hour from Plymouth docks. The basic room was as described and next time will upgrade for more comfort and space.
Staff went out of their way to make sure your stay went smoothly , & that you were happy with your room etc , very friendly cosy happy atmosphere … outstanding service !
Our Family room was lovely , very comfortable with everything you needed for your stay . Plenty of tea, coffee, water, milk & lovely biscuits layed out on display . Tv , comfy beds & towels, soaps shower gel etc supplied .
Dartmoor Lodge offers great choice of French & English food on the menu there , a lovely indoor & outside drinks bar . The Breakfast room was layed out beautifully with a lovely choice of continental breakfast or Full English breakfast buffet with a selection of juices, coffee, tea .
Our pets were made to feel so welcome .

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Unfortunately just very dated. The bar area looked more like a social club than a country pub.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Property was fine. Staff were not as good as expected. I asked for omelette in the morning, the answer was No we can’t make you one. We asked for veg sausages , it arrived after 30 mins. The first night I asked for heating in the room as it was so cold, the lady wasn’t impress with the heating she had to provide. Nobody asked us how our stay was, food and overall general conversation. We felt really left out as an Asian family.
The outside of the property was beautiful at first glance. Both myself and my partner were staying only for one night.
The first issue was the lady who showed us to our room- as I was walking she asked “how far along are you?” To which I said “sorry? Who’s pregnant” and she replied “oh sorry, I just thought you were pregnant and I didn’t understand why your partner would’ve made you hold the bags” to which I replied “no”. Obviously quite an uncomfortable situation for both party’s, I wouldn’t say I’m on the heavier side as 20yr old size 12 but obviously she thought otherwise.
Second issue was our bathroom, as we walked in we noticed our bathroom was flooded also there was yellow marks near the toilet so my partner went down to let them know, to which they said they were going to sort it out. Later in the evening when we arrived the bathroom was still flooded and the marks were still there. Small things like the carpet feeling dirty/sticky, bad quality mattress and there was no hairdryer but we did have tea and coffee as well as complimentary soap in the bathroom.
I would give this a solid 4 out of 10, for £100+ a night I would expect a different approach to their guests.
Det var veldig hyggelig plass, enkel å komme til. Personalet var hjelpsomme og hyggelige

A good, safe stay
The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, though one of the single beds had an uncomfortable mattress. Very generous coffee, tea and milk supplies, which were replenished. Couldn't open our windows the second morning, as, being on the ground floor and near an exit/entrance for linen collection, obstacles had been placed against. Overall, it satisfied our needs and was a reasonable lodge for the price.

Will definitely return
Good value for money, clean and quite comfortable. Expected a double bed but got twin beds and in the family room a very small tv but overall a good experience. We had a very nice dinner.
Very good stay. Evening meal was very nice. Room and especially shower was good. Staff and service very friendly.

2 nights
They have a very good quality restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The rooms are okay but maybe mattress is poor quality. The staff were helpful and happy to help. Nice place to stay in a very good location.
There was a power cut in the area when I arrived. The power wasn't restored until 1030pm. Not the hotels fault but paying £95 to sit in a darkened room with no electricity is a bit much.

Richie’s Devon weekend
The weekend at the Dartmoor lodge was fantastic, The food was really good, The staff were amazing having to work so much harder with all the COVID rules thanks to you all I will be returning
This was ideal for my needs. I have two dogs so needed a dog-friendly hotel, rather than a luxury one. Reception staff were very helpful, warm and friendly. My room was very clean and comfortable and had everything I needed.
Cannot recommend this lovely hotel enough. I have stayed 3 times already , every time the owners and staff cant do enough to make sure your trip is perfect. My family also stay here and love it (return every year for the last 4 years+) the food is AMAZING whatever you order.
Very dog friendly ! So close to the moors too , we love it. Thank you for always being so welcoming dartmoor lodge.
