“Nature’s Gate - Cottage” is a delightful single-storey coastal cottage in Newhaven, on 20 acres and set in an absolute waterfront setting amongst established gardens and expansive open paddocks. Walk to the beach from inside the property and close to the supermarkets, restaurants & cafés of Cape Woolamai and Cowes, this peaceful retreat offers a wonderful base for enjoying the natural beauty and coastal surroundings of Phillip Island. Some of the many features of this lovely home are detailed below:

Indoor Areas

The Cottage is accessed via the front Verandah, with all three Bedrooms (each with hooks on the wall with coat hangers) positioned along the hallway. The Bathroom (with shower over bath, hairdryer and toilet) is located at the front of the Cottage. Enjoy stunning rural views from the bathtub! The Laundry (with washing machine & clothes airer) is located next to the Bathroom.

The separate Barn (about 10m away) provides the main Living/Dining area (with Smart TV, a selection of card/board games, Coonara wood heater, bar & record player), creating a spacious and inviting area for guests to relax and entertain. The Barn's huge bi-fold glass doors open up one side of the building, allowing guests to enjoy the surrounding outdoor setting.

Outdoor Areas

The spacious outdoor areas provide a wonderful setting to enjoy the peaceful waterfront surroundings. The outdoor area next to the Barn features a gas BBQ, making it a great spot for relaxed outdoor cooking and entertaining. The Barn also features a 10-seater dining table, providing plenty of space for guests to enjoy meals together while taking in the surrounding grounds.

The property offers two outdoor showers. With spacious grounds (approximately 20 acres) and a tranquil coastal setting, Nature’s Gate - Cottage is an ideal place for guests to relax, unwind, and enjoy a memorable Phillip Island getaway. There is parking for up to 6 vehicles across the driveway and lawn, with space available for parking boats (without any height or width restrictions), making it convenient for guests bringing vehicles and boats along.

Kitchen

The Kitchenette is equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, microwave, Nespresso-compatible coffee pod machine and a bar fridge, providing the essentials for preparing light meals and refreshments. There is no oven or cooktop in the Kitchenette.

Heating/Cooling Systems

There is one wall-mounted reverse-cycle air conditioners in the home in Bedroom 3, plus mobile heaters and pedestal fans in Bedrooms 1 and 2. The Barn has a Coonara-style wood heater, with wood supplied for guests.

Bedding Configuration

This home has 2 beds and 1 sofa bed, accommodating up to 6 guests:

Bedroom 1: One Queen bed
Bedroom 2: One Queen bed
Bedroom 3: One Queen sofa bed 

Linen

It is common in the region for some linen to be provided for bookings, and some linen to be available as an optional extra. By default, a booking at this home does not include optional linen (top & bottom sheets, bath towels and pillowcases). What is included are doonas (quilts) with covers, pillows without covers, tea towels, hand towels and bathmats. If you would like the optional linen included in your booking, please let us know, including which beds you would like it provided for. The additional cost would be a one-off charge of $30 per bed - and we prefer 7 days' notice prior to your arrival to get that arranged.

Peak Periods

Please note that during the peak summer period and other peak times, check in times are set as 3pm unless by prior arrangement. Please also note that if you avail of the optional linen hire over these times, it may involve linen being left out but beds not being made up.

Functions, Celebrations and Schoolies

Please note that the home is not suitable for celebrations, parties, or large events. The home also does not take bookings over Schoolies, irrespective of whether school-leavers are part of the official Schoolies Program. All bookings are subject to approval, pending Guest verification process. Local council restrictions are in place for this property, and compliance is mandatory.
