Resembles a nursing home
I arrived and was told there was no chef for the restaurant, yet no mention of that when booking. Ended up eating at Asda. The cost of the room was very high compared to the condition of the hotel.
the lady at reception when we got to the hotel took us to our room & explained where breakfast was & the time of breakfast. the room was lovely & big. little bit dark but ok when we opened the curtains fully. there was a fan in the room which we used. the staff at breakfast were friendly & informative. the cooked breakfast was really nice. the cakes looked nice too. the gentleman was helping with breakfast but saw we were going to check out so went to reception. lovely size car park. would definately stay here again
A RnR trip to Newark.
The Millgate has free parking, staff are very friendly and informative.
The weather was hot and room was a bit stuffy so asked for a fan, which they put in the room asap, no hassle at all.
Well worth a visit!

Staff nice
Signage poor difficulty finding hotels as no sign on side were address is but very large sign on back of hotel were the car park is
Felt expensive for what it was
Great hotel within walking distance of Newark and includes free parking.
The only issue was that we stayed on the hottest day, the rooms were not air conditioned and the restaurant was so hot we couldn’t eat there..
This was our forty first wedding anniversary so the trip from Leicester to Newark staying at this hotel was egg breaking (Cracking).
We would definitely go back to this hotel.
This place needs refurbished badly . The beds are not good at all you can feel the springs in your body as you try to sleep . The staff don’t even ask how was your stay ? As they know what the answer would be 😩the room ceilings were covered in cob webs & few spiders crawling around 😩. Only thing that was good was a friendly member of staff at breakfast. The whole place needs a good clean especially the windows . It was not cheap it was £95 a night .would not recommend
Only stayed one night but from what I saw the hotel was clean and the rooms were big and comfortable! Only thing I will say is the beds are very squeaky
