The location of this home is perfect, between the town of New Paltz and Lake Minnewaska. It is a short bike ride from the Wallkill Valley Trail. The view is amazing. For nature lovers, there were several deer walking the property every day. Firepit was great! Need to purchase your own wood unless you are lucky to have the previous person leave some. Most important, the home was extremely comfortable, clean, updated, stocked with mostly everything you need. Even had coffee, creamer, tea and snacks just to mention a few. Definitely will go back.

Perfect birthday getaway

My significant other and I decided to visit his old college (C.I.A.) and we stumbled on this listing and so glad that we did! Every detail was accounted for! We couldn't have been happier with our choice and would definitely stay at this location again. It was absolutely wonderful!

A truly extraordinary place

Mountain View Escape is beautifully furnished and impeccably maintained. The bedroom is like a luxury hotel room with a super-sized king bed and luxurious linens. The grounds are spacious and delighted my young dog. I loved the quiet, low key neighborhood, which is conveniently close to Gardiner and New Paltz. I could not recommend the place more highly.

Beautiful clean modern cabin. In a great area of the Hudson valley. Hikes for the Dog. Wonderful nearby town of New Paltz. And great food and restaurants Aster was always available for advise.

Adorable, good size cottage on a beautiful property. It had an enjoyable view of the mountains. We enjoyed morning coffee on the outside decks and seating areas every morning and relaxed on the deck at the end of the deck as well. The Hammock was well used. In a perfect spot for relaxation and shade. The bedding was top notch. We have stayed in many hotels around the World and by far the bedding was A, would love to know where the owner purchased. We saw deer in the yard. It was very relaxing. Weren't able to enjoy the fire pit, no real access to starters and wood, or lighter. Also, not sure why, but the refrigerator was over 1/2 full. The items were already open and not something that was appealing to use. We enjoyed the availability of the backgammon set.

Top notch in every way!

We've stayed in a number of VRBOs and none have been as well-appointed and welcoming as this Mountain View Escape home. Privacy and space, while close to wonderful towns and places to explore. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible stay at this gorgeous home with cozy fireplace and breathtaking views of the Shawangunk mountains. Perfect spot for a hiking vacation!

We had an excellent stay at this cabin. Check-in and checkout were smooth and easy. The interior was super cozy, well-decorated, and very clean, with an impressively well-stocked kitchen. Almost all the major hikes in the area were 10-15 minutes away, and New Paltz was just as close. Aster was very responsive and gracious as a host, and even allowed us to stay a few extra hours so we could watch the solar eclipse from the backyard. Only regret was not making use of the fire pit.
