  • This is a completely private unit. Beautiful New Orleans single, shotgun home with high ceilings, heart of pine floors, cypress doors, beautiful old windows and architectural details. Living room with comfy furniture, couch, chairs and tv. In the bedroom is a queen size bed and armoire. The bathroom is new with shower. Relax on the front porch or walk to watch the bands just a few blocks away. There are many new restaurants, bars, coffee shops and galleries that have opened up in the area to explore.

Perfect for our (my wife and I) 3 night stay. Short walking distance to coffee shop, convenient store, bars, restaurants, and art. Host was extremely responsive and friendly. Will definitely look to stay here next time!

Stayed at Rita's guest house for our first kid-free trip ever! It was the best launching pad for exploring the city and the best place to relax at the end of the day. The bed was so comfortable we just wanted to lay there and watch movies all day. The soace was very thoughtfully set up. It even had sunscreen and a first aid kit. Neighborhood was very quiet, so quiet that a chatty cat was my alarm clock one morning. Very cute. Would absolutely stay here again.

This stay was so fantastic, wonderful guide to the area from our host, responsive to questions, ease of location being close to so many artsy area attractions on top of the French Quarter. We loved the apartment and the neighborhood, lots of nice thoughtful touches and amazing food and bars nearby. Nearby train goes by frequently, and loudly, including during the night, but the most comfortable mattress in the world makes up for it!

Our stay at the guest house was perfect! We were immediately charmed by the space’s design and decor. The bed was comfortable, the shower temperature and pressure was perfect after our long chilly adventures downtown. The location is a short distance walk to the main attractions, however the neighborhood itself has restaurants and shops to explore on your way to the French quarter & Frenchman st. Enjoyed our stay. Very convenient location if you are looking to explore New Orleans. Quick tip about the shower- Leave the shower head level and it will not drip when you turn the water off. We figured this out the last night.

Best time in the Bywater!

We stayed in Rita's place for 3 nights, and it was exceptional. The location was perfect; it was about a 10-15 minute walk from Frenchmen Street, about 25 to Bourbon Street, and beautiful neighborhoods in between. We sat on the front porch every morning with coffee, and it felt like we were at home and truly part of the neighborhood somehow. We chatted with her briefly a few times on her way in and she's lovely! What a magical place. We hope to come back next year! As a note, there is a train close by, but she does have a small noise machine in there which helped a lot. You might still want to bring earplugs, but we slept just fine, and the bed was super comfortable.

NOLA experience!

We had a wonderful stay on the border of Marginy/Bywater areas of NOLA. A mix of housing, lots of WONDERFUL local food, art, vintage shopping. It was safe and accessible to everything we wanted to do in NOLA - music & food. Had a great local ballet/opera house as well. Our host was wonderful and responsive to our needs. The gunshot style home was common in the area so it was nice to experience the housing history of NOLA during our stay. We had quite a bit of rain but the positives were greater than the adventures rain brought. 😀
