About this property
Life at the Dairy Farm
Coming to visit grandma? Prefer a rural spot to a hotel 30 mins away? Welcome to our home away from home. A modest 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home with a great view of cows, and rolling green pastures abutting a working dairy farm. The home sits across from a gorgeous mountain view with a winding spring.
The house is located in the Cove. This is a mountainous region that doesn't get very good cell service. If you are from here, you will know what we mean. If you enjoy the outdoors, even just driving around the countryside, there is no more beautiful place. We have a covered back patio that can be enjoyed most times of the year and sitting areas on our porches for especially nice days.

A clean well equipped place to stay for a quiet weekend with friends.
The house was clean and spacious. Well equipped and quiet peaceful surroundings. Thanks for opening this house up for an alternative place to stay other than hotels.
We stayed at your property while we finished getting things done for my daughters wedding it was a great place nice and quiet thank you for allowing us to stay there
We were vendors at the Fall Foilage Festival and this was the perfect place after an exhaustive day of set up and selling. The Patio Room is huge😍. We only used the king bed but it was very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, nice and clean! Out of the way but close to town. Thanks for sharing your lovely home❤️
The best part of this home was the sunroom, from which you can watch cows grazing in the adjacent property. You can also get within petting distance of the friendly cows. It was really picturesque and quaint. Everything was clean. River tubing an hour away. A diner within ten minutes and dinner restaurants within 20 minutes. 10/10.
I spent a weekend to celebrate with my significant other - the location was great, it feels distinctly peaceful - but you aren't too far away from anything if you needed (or in my case forgot) to bring something - There's a Dollar General a few minutes away and Bedford/Altoona/Roaring Spring are a short drive if needed.
The joy of the dairy farm house though is that you really don't want to leave - it was a perfect spot to enjoy the day in the sun room, and binge an entire season of a show at night.
The master suite was amazing - as was the bathroom connected to it. Honestly, if we could have stayed longer - we certainly would have.
We can't say enough about this lovely home and host. Communication with, and instructions from, the host were superb. The property was super-clean, well-marked, and well-stocked. There were games and puzzles for our kiddos. Our son wanted to know if we could buy the house and all its contents! :-)
If you are looking to get away and relax with your family at a quiet venue, you don't need to look further than this.
My husband and I stayed at life on the dairy farm last week. We absolutely loved it!! If you're looking for a fast nightlife, busyness, and lots of amenities, this is not the place for you. But if you want a quiet place to get away, spend time outdoors, and just enjoy some rest, this is the absolute best place. The host was very responsive, no problems getting in contact when we had questions. The property was extremely clean, simply furnished and very comfortable. It was like being at home away from home. Our stay was very peaceful and restorative. A huge blessing!
Also found a few restaurants nearby that were excellent. We plan to go back next year.
We had an awesome stay here in a farm community setting. From pictures, we thought it was far off the road, but it is on a street, but far off the beaten path enough that it is quiet and very enjoyable. With 2 1/2 baths, we were able to get the family showered quickly. Sun room is relaxing and therapeutic with an incredible view of the cows that show up at various times, and my daughter LOVED feeding the cats that show up daily on the porch as the “welcoming committee.” Comfortable house. Desk for working if needed. We’ll stocked kitchen for whatever you want to use. TV with various channels and WiFi for Internet use. Will book here again definitely!
What a gem! This place was perfect for our stay. Within minutes to state game lands. Town was a short drive for anything we needed. Seeing the cows right out back was very cool and walled right up next to them without issue. My son stuck his hand out and one cow licked him! The board games provided in the house were a very nice amenity as we had a blast playing a few of them. Will definitely be staying here again if plans allow. Also communication with the owner was second to none. Provided all of the information we needed and was available if needed, which we did not, because the house had everything listed and then some. Thank you!
From the second I walked into this wonderful property, I knew that I was going to have a restful and worry-free one week stay. The home has everything you could possibly want or need and is very roomy.
The land behind the home is cordoned off by an electric wire behind where there is a corn field and grass that you’ll see a herd of cows occasionally grazing. On my last day, two of the cows got past the wiring. I wouldn’t have known if it weren’t for the fact that one of the cows was actually grazing right in front of my bedroom window! I went to the backyard concerned that the cows might wander on to the main road. One of the cows came close to me and started licking my hand! Then suddenly like clockwork, the two cows and the rest of their herd ran back uphill. That moment, and feeding the barn cats, were true highlights.
Grocery stores are a 15-20 minute drive north or south, as are restaurants and fast food chains. If you have any questions or concerns, Angie is a quick text or a phone call away.
I already miss staying at the property and I hope to return again soon. Highly recommended!
Very quaint and comfortable, many personal touches to ensure our stay was perfect. Great location for us, nearby restaurants are very good. Loved the daily cow visits and interacting with the cute kittens
My sisters and I had a wonderful stay in this countryside home. Everything we might need was readily available and our hosts were very responsive. The all season room was a perfect place to watch the heifers in the pasture while enjoying our morning coffee/tea and relaxing after a full day at fall foliage festival and other local sites.
We enjoyed being in the country/farm setting. The house was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed and more.We loved having the cows come visit us daily. Do you know how relaxing it is to watch cows meander and graze? We enjoyed Life at the Dairy Farm.
We had a fantastic time at this rental! The location was quiet, safe, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the farm setting and getting to see the animals — such a unique and charming touch. The cuddly kitties was definitely a bonus. The hosts went above and beyond by providing lots of extra items that made our stay even more comfortable and convenient. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat!
Sparkling clean and well stocked. Peaceful setting that was just perfect as a hub for my (very successful) genealogy quest in the Cove. With luck, we'll be back again.
The house had very unique and excellent decor throughout the house. Lots of utensils in the kitchen and dining room space to seat 9 for our family breakfast. Cell service is spotty to nonexistent in the area, requiring the need to hookup to the home WiFi.
This trip was the most amazing, tranquil, enjoyable experience staying on a dairy farm and spending time with the cows and kitties on the property! It was exactly what I needed for a get away from work and time visiting my 89 year old father 30 minutes away! I would love to come back!!
