"Very helpful and polite staff. Went above and beyond during my stay. There was one fan in the room and two windows, one of which did not open all the way. Difficult to sleep during the heatwave as a result. Plus the corridors on the way to the room were quite hot and stuffy. The windows were all either partially or fully open along the way so I guess it could have been worse. Bed was comfy. I stayed in the deluxe room, which was huge, with a nice comfy couch and a sprawling bathroom. Wifi was great. Solid breakfast options and a nice bar in the lobby. Checkout was smooth as butter. Hotel was very centrally located in Ely, less than 5 mins walk from the Minster and a 15 min walk to the train station. Would definitely stay again. Just perhaps not during a heatwave."

"WOW! What a stunning place! Which we highly recommend a stay here. From when you initially arrive at the property and travel down the drive you can see the wonderful gardens and beautiful views. We were checked in by Millie, who showed us to our room, which was amazing Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t open, but they did do meat and cheese boards, which we shared one of each, and certainly were not disappointed by the taste and variety. The staff are friendly and attentive, without being over the top, Millie was awesome and a real credit to The Old Hall."

"Excellent location right on the river side with plenty of eateries nearby. Room had a musty smell upon arrival but this soon went after being aired. Nice bed bathroom etc and excellent breakfast. What was challenging and confusing was the parking situation. Accommodation offered parking but where exactly was it?l drove around the back and there was a sign about one area being private boatyard parking. I spoke to one lady sitting by the garage who told me I was ok to park in the bigger yard area. However in the morning there was a note on my car saying I had parked in the boatyard area. There is no one to ask in the hotel when you check in nor adequate signage to to direct guests to the correct parking space."

"Mahalia is a little paradise set in an orchard and wildlife meadow.It has lots of original features for the period. It is the epitome of a relaxing holiday. the owners are lovely friendly people. I cannot praise this place highly enough - one of the best places I have stayed in"

"Het was een prachtige cottage met veel ruimte en voldoende keukenuitrusting. De gastheer Timothy was geweldig. Hij gaf ons goede tips voor dagtochtjes en kon een hoop geschiedkundige verhalen vetellen.Al met al een erg geslaagde en interessante week in Soham.Klein ongemak was het krakende en harde bed."
