A magical place to stay with the real feel of being in a castle. The hosts were lovely, very accommodating, and full of the building's and the surrounding areas' history. We would definitely stay again.

unique experience with great atmosphere but also comfortable. Sue and Dave are lovely hosts. Ruby's bakery on premises is an additional treat!

Phenomenal stay. Sue and Dave could not have been more accommodating. The property is lovely and close enough to drive to everything. If you get a chance purchase a loaf of sour dough bread from their daughter’s bakery. Bed was very comfortable, water was very hot. Would definitely stay again. Lots of great things to see within a 15-30 minute drive. Thank you for everything!

The property is beautiful and has interesting history. It definitely has the feel of staying in a medieval castle. Dave and Sue were very friendly and helped us without question when we had a flat tire.

The bolthole was amazing! Sue & Dave were also great! (There isn't a dryer but they offered theirs for us to use when they saw our bathing suits hanging outside!) Very friendly couple! 20 acres of land surround the area & we were able to walk around & play! Very close to Navan with a whole bunch of shops & resturants!

We had a lovely stay. The history of the castle is impressive! It was perfectly located to explore this historic region. The country setting also added to our desire to relax and disconnect. Sue and her husband were delightful, full of great anecdotes. Hope to return!

Lots of Irish historic charm in this castle. Dave and Sue very friendly. No outlet in the bathroom but great water pressure in the shower. The kitchen is not very equipped to cook a lot and for coffee, it only has a French press.

This is a lovely renovated ancient stone tower with very thick walls, flagstone floors, arched roof, etc. The renovated kitchen functions well and the bathroom and shower provide instant hot water! It is a very old building that we picked for it's character and it provided in spades. I was surprised how much light did enter the rooms, wwe didnt need the heat and usually had the door opened wide for sun and ventilation. Dave and Sue were wonderful hosts, Ruby's on-site bakery provided fresh sourdough, and evening drinks in the courtyard sun where great memories were made. It was a great spot for exploring the Ancient East area by car and bike.

excellent appartement proche de Dublin.

accueil sympathique, appartement plein de charme (en bas du chateau, il est un peu sombre). Il permet de bien visiter la région, y compris Dublin.

Charming and quirky 14th century building with modern upgrades. Location is great, we enjoyed n excursion to New Grange. Hosts were very responsive. The kitchen has minimal utensils if you plan to cook.

Cosy accommodation

The wood burner adds to the welcoming appeal of the bolt hole, which provided comfortably accommodation for my wife and I, along with our Irish Water Spaniels. This was our second visit to Durhamstown Castle and we'd certainly stay again.

Leider wusste keiner etwas von unserer Ankunft und es musste erst rumtelefoniert werden. Der Gutsbesitzer war sehr nett und man konnte sich gut mit ihm unterhalten. Die Unterkunft ist recht feucht, was aufgrund des Alters der Gemäuer nicht erstaunlich ist, aber es lief ein Luftentfeuchter, der auslief. Das Geschirr war teilweise schimmlig, sodass ein großer Teil abgewaschen werden musste, bevor man es nutzen konnte. Leider ging der vorhandene Geschirrspüler nicht an. Sobald man den Stecker wieder in die Steckdose gesteckt hat, nachdem man den Geschirrspüler erstmal unter der Arbeitsplatte hervorgezogen hat, und das Programm startete, kam die Sicherung und er lief aus. Daher musste ich das schimmlige Geschirr mit Hand abwaschen. Wir hatten für zwei Erwachsene und drei Kinder gebucht. Es gab nur 2 bezogene Doppelbetten. Ein 5. Bett war nicht vorbereitet. Alles in allem war es eine Erfahrung, aber ich würde nicht nochmal dort buchen.
