Fire alarm chirping all night our first night. They did change the batteries the next morning. Caretaker of the house is so very sweet.
Fantastic experience, the family were very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the house & area, their passion shone through.
We certainly appreciated our two day stay.
Thanks
This home is historic with lots of stories, which the hostess shares freely and knowledgeable of past events. There is also a ghost tour where photography is encouraged to see if any past residents show up in the photos. Very entertaining and enjoyable.
We just received our credit card statement, and it has a charge for $200. Which WAS NOT authorized.
We gave them our credit card upon check in for a deposit only, but she charged us for a tour. They told us that the mom would show us 2 rooms after breakfast. The same 2 rooms that we already saw, and we defiantly did not authorize to pay for a tour of the room we stayed in.
The room we had was absolutely dirty.
The air conditioner was unusable for the fear of getting sick from the mold and dirt.
There was mold in the laundry basket.
The TV did not shut off.
The bedroom door could only be locked from the inside, so we have to leave the room unlocked when we left the room, taking our belonging us with for the evening.
The room was used for storage so we could not even walk around the bed.
The grandson who served breakfast was in his pajamas without shoes was discussing.
Not to mention, they required payment up front (not what Expedia had when we booked.) Plus, charging a fee to process the payment. So we were changed more then the amount on Expedia when we booked.
Staff is friendly, breakfasts were delicious and authentically Southern, prepared by the owner. Bed was comfortable, but no comfortable seating or table. Lampshade looked as if it had been run over. Dresser drawers were full of linens, as was armoire, so no place to store our clothes. We had to share our bathroom the evening of our arrival with a group of about 35 attending a garden party. Inconvenient and unsanitary. Bathroom floor needed cleaning. Charming Owner gave us a tour of the home, full of antiques belonging to her family . She does ghost tours as well, but we did not participate. Impressive that the property is still owned by the same family for generations. Needs some TLC.

Charming "faded glory" feel. Audrey, the 90 y.o. matriarch is charming and full of great stories of the past. Her daughter was a very thoughtful host. Good breakfast. The place is not "The Ritz" but a pleasant experience.
If you are looking for a true piece of history and authentic southern hospitality, this is your spot! Margorie and Valerie were so kind and accommodating! The home is a true lived-in home that hosts 200 years of amazing history! It was an honor to have them share their home and life stories with us! The mystery dinner was great and so much fun! Visiting with Ms. Marjorie during a wonderful breakfast was enchanting! Truly a unique experience that will be a long-held memory for us! Thank you Glenfield House for sharing your history with us!

Pretty run down property in need of maintenance and repairs if measured by usual b & b standards. If you are anything besides southern, white American, you might want to avoid this “southern hospitality” as the eccentricities and biases are right out in the open.
We enjoyed our two-night stay very much! The free breakfasts were wonderful. Be home in beds work very comfortable as well, and the staff was very attentive and very sweet. I will return there for another stay hopefully this summer.
Enjoyed our stay at this historic bed and breakfast in Natchez. It was conveniently located. The owners were very sweet with interesting stories about the plantation.
We arrived at the 4 star rated Glenfield Plantation B&B around 4:30 pm Friday, June 19, 2020. We had booked it for our 39th anniversary getaway. The photographs on your website showed beautiful, pristine gardens, beautiful, well kept sparkling rooms at the Glenfield B&B.
However, upon arrival, it was evident these pictures were 30 years old. The yard was overgrown, Patio in disarray, huge dog barking ferociously through window, the Outside of house Not kept up, very dirty, Wasps in room, dead bugs under the bed, windows A/C and windows and curtains never had been cleaned, the room was not at all as pristine as the pictures implied. The bathroom was not plantation quality. I was visibly upset as the unprofessionally dressed owner noticed. The door to our room did not even have an exterior lock on it!
I immediately went to hotels.com chat to get a refund. I stayed on chat for at least an hour, with no help. My husband appealed to the owner And at first They weren’t going to do anything but finally refunded the second night less $25.!! We were out of pocket $195.00!
We took the $134.00 refund and left!! I consequently booked the Grand Hotel through Hotels.com.
Very very disappointed!! I am sorry that I didn’t take pictures of the B&B’s current state. But as I said, I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.
We loved our stay. My children had a great time as well. They are already asking to go back for the weekend. Ms. Marjorie gave the best tour with some amazing stories and the breakfast was AWESOME!! Highly recommend! We will be back for sure!

A Charming Place to Stay
This was my favorite place to stay during my 7-day Louisiana/Mississippi Trip. Our hostess Valerie, whose family has owned the house for 100+ years, is a charming Southern gal who is proud of her family’s heritage home and land. Her children helped with breakfast and luggage. The home is filled with family heirlooms and bric a brac. It was a thrill to stay with a real family in a real antique home.

Wonderful hospitality.
First impressions: Annoyance at the difficulty in finding the plantation, especially after dark. The address was not enough information for our navigation system. However, once that was resolved we found the warm hospitality by the proprietress and her mother to make the search well worth it. The house is old and very authentic in every detail, making us feel that we had stepped back in time. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious and ample without being over abundant. We were given a fascinating tour and history of the house by the hostess whose family has lived on tha property for over 150 years. we don't recommend this choice for finicky people, but for those looking for authenticity and warm personality over luxury seek out this gem.
They entertained a tour group on patio which was more important than we were. They tied a dog up so as not to bother tour group. We listened to Jack bark for two hours straight! We requested help from three of the staff to no avail. They were attentive to tour group only. With the price we paid, we were VERY dissatisfied. Never been treated like that before and we've stayed at lots of B&Bs. The older lady hostess has no clue about tact. Never again.

Price paid at check-in did not match reservation.
This B&B is located just a mile or so outside Natchez. It's a beautiful home with a rich history. Our hostesses were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Our room held beautiful period furniture, but the room itself felt awkward. Multiple doors leading out of room & no key meant limited privacy and security. We had 1 chair, limited surfaces and no drawer or closet space, so we had to put things on the bed or floor. The drawers & armoire were filled with linnens. Some dust and peeling wallpaper, but fitting for 1800s theme. All in all, a fun, unique experience. But please check fine print on HOTELS.COM site. The confirmed price for 4 people was not what the B&B charged. Because we have kids, the charge was nearly doubled. We were not prepared, but too tired to argue:/
It felt like I was staying at my grandmas house, the staff were very nice and made me feel at home. The history was very interesting, the tour she gave of the house was nice. My kids were very scared to stay here because it "looked" haunted, but it didn't feel haunted at all.
The house was very nice and full of history.....a time capsule filled with old southern charm. Mrs. Meng, the owner was very friendly and full of local history knowledge. The breakfasts were very good too.
