I'll start with what I liked about the hotel. Beyond lovely front reception. Calls were coming in, clients were trying to apply points, line up at the desk and the lovey woman kept her composure, manners and sense of humour. The rooms looked like they had recently been updated with new bedding and carpet; smaller sized rooms but given the age of the building it was anticipated. Very VERY close to Grand Ole Opry, food, shopping etc. Everything you would want....
However, I think this hotel was very crowded, someone (guest) was blaring inappropriate music in the reception area waiting for his party (bachelor?). With the rooms being updated the smell of plastic (?) or the damp A/C units were overwhelming for the first while. My daughter in the room across the way ate her pizza out in the hallway as she felt the damp/plastic smell was overwhelming. Here is the kicker though; there is a wall mounted timed air freshener. This goes off off regularly and throughout the night which woke me up even over the sound of the A/C unit. Small detail but it was an irritation. I honestly think that we were just not a good fit for this hotel; perfect for young adults or those wanting to be closer to the Nashville experience.
