Superb location and a very tranquil setting. All staff were very helpful and courteous. The room had an amazing view and overlooking the river. Could not have asked for more.

Value for Money on Ganga Shores at Rishikesh

A small 24 rooms heritage property of Maharaja right on the banks of pristine Ganga is a great place to stay in Rishikesh. One restaurant serves great food of all variety though we found local cuisines not up to the mark of Taj, which I am sure they will improve after this feedback.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel—it’s beautiful, peaceful. I enjoyed the nightly Aarti and high tea. I got an amazing spa treatment with Manashe. If you go to the spa you must see her; she is incredible. The food was delicious. I love my morning masala omelette. Rahul the housekeeping manager left many pleasant surprises-like a foot soak. The room was wonderful. I did the stargazing as well which was very nice. Overall, really enjoyed my stay at this historic property. I also loved how Vashishta Gufa is close by, I visited twice. Very powerful place.

We stayed for a week at Anand Kashi and had an excellent experience. Vijay (and initially Saurabh) at the reception took good care of us starting from our check-in and throughout our stay. We took their car for sightseeing and chauffeur Devender was very knowledgeable about all the local places and provided us excellent service. Pankaj/June and Chef Rajendar at the restaurant really catered to our culinary needs. Nikhil at Security provided us protection from the monkeys which I can say is the only negative at the resort. Even though we had a balcony with an excellent view of the Ganges, we had to be watchful of our surroundings as wild monkeys would appear all of a sudden. The resort folks do try to chase them away but they would come back occasionally. So, having food sitting on the balcony is a definite “no”. The view from the resort is truly breathtaking and to be a part of Ganga Aarti every evening is divine. Overall, we highly recommend stay at this resort.

Nice property

The location is excellent and the staff is very good. The property is nice as well. The only hiccup we experienced was that there was no diesel generator thereat and the power goes out quite often. While that is okay during the day, at night, we were sitting in a dark room till the power came back. I wish they would have some provision of at least a power inverter (if not a generator presumably due to environmental reasons) to keep the lights running.

Amazing Place

It was a superlative stay with the people running it and working in it going above and beyond to make sure you are content and well looked after. Sourabh and Vijay in Front office were exceptional and most helpful. As was the lady whose name I did not catch. They looked after you like family. Only constructive feedback I can offer is that the hotel adds more items to the menu — especially Room Service. In a hotel where guests are captive to the restaurants offerings it makes sense to extend the menus and offer a more extensive selection of favorites. It helps guests to plan longer stays for the future as food is always an important component of any trip. This was an issue for me on this one as I very quickly ran out of things I wanted to order in room. Even a normal club sandwich and grilled sandwich which every hotel has in its RS menu was missing. Thanks!

Different Room provided but it was much better

We booked family grand room. However, we were given a room that was completely different from the photos of the room that is in description. While the room could fit 3 adults and was as big, the decor of the room resembled the rooms with earthly decor. This was initially disappointing. The room as per photos were all booked out. The management went above and beyond in service to make up for this change and after 3 nights we were given the room that is shown in photos. Having compared both rooms, we found the original room (earthly decor) was more practical with small kids as this room was completely flat and did not have any stairs. the rooms that are shown in photos has stairs. Also the original room (with earthly decor) had TV facing the bed which kids and us much referred. I would highly advise that whoever gets this earthly decor room as family grand room and while this may not be what you expected, this room may be better for what you need as a family.

Disappointing Experience

The approach road was under construction, and as such it was not a comfortable experience. The interior decor was very average, though rooms are big sized. The best part about the hotel is its location - right on the banks of river Ganges. It stands out as a result. The tariff is too high for what the hotel offers in entirety. Most friends of mine who had been to the hotel, have similar comments.

Great quiet and peaceful location.

Wonderful location on the bank of the Ganges.... blue and fast flowing at this locations. The hanging rattan chairs in the grounds let one hear the flowing river and have a snooze out in the open.

A small hamlet placed in an absolute stunning location. The highlight of the stay is the service, people there are so amazing and ready to serve your whims and fancies. Start the day with the heartfelt breakfast, get down to the Ganga sand-beach, spend spiritually uplifting couple of hours there, come back bask in the winter sun with sips of ginger tea, made to your perfect taste. I would recommend at least two nights to everyone visiting Rishikesh. The only dampener was the drive to and from to Shivpuri as the Char Dham yatra road is under construction.
