Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
The accommodation was a bit tired, but spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool was very tempting and the laundry very useful.
The location was excellent,..very accessible to CBD shopping, and Marine Parade
I did find it a little difficult navigating the stairs while carrying my heavy weekend bag
When we arrived at 4.30 we realized this motel is used for emergency housing (homeless people). The room was shabby, the heating was a small oil heater which would take forever to heat the room. There were cigarette burns in the bathroom sink. There were chips out of all the cupboards. We had a hot drink and then decided we'd go out for dinner, as we left I noticed a family changing a baby on the carpet of one of the rooms. There were unkept children running around outside. We noticed there was a motel across the road so went over there to see if there were any vacancies. Fortunately there was so we booked a room there. We went straight back to Fountain Court, packed up, dropped the key off and left. We'd been there approx only 1 1/2 hours. I've stayed in a lot of motels in my life but never have I stayed in one as bad as this. The atmosphere of the place from the time we walked into reception and didn't feel welcomed until the time we left was just eerie. I felt very uncomfortable. The room we booked across the road at Beach Front Motel was only an extra $50 for an executive suite with a spa bath and a beautiful view over the beach front.
The motel is good - a little tired but has everything you need. The bed was large and comfortable. Very convenient to the beachfront and other amenities. Staff were very friendly.
