The property was pretty nice, clean, nice decor, mere steps from the beach. You have to bring toilet paper, towels, and basically everything else, though they do leave you cleaning supplies and a toilet bowl brush. Patty, the person who cleaned our unit prior to our arrival, did a great job and deserves a shout out.
The customer service is abysmal. I didn't throughly read the lease agreement as I have a job/life and didn't have time to scour the lease ageeement for every detail. I asked them 2 days before I checked in what the code is to get in. The response was "everything will be there when you arrive". They failed to mention that I needed to drive to their office in Kitty Hawk to pick up a piece of paper with the code on it.
I arrived at the property around 5ish. The office at this property is Windjammer, not Carolina shores. I called both numbers and left messages because the office was closed. I even reached out to vrbo so they could help me, but all they could do was reach out to the property manager (vrbo customer service is good, they seemed to care). Windjammer explained to me that they are not affiliated with Carolina shores, and they couldn't help me get in.
Carolina shores returned my call more than 3 hours later. By that time, I was standing in the lobby of the Outer Banks Inn trying to check in because I didnt want my kids to have to sleep in a car overnight. The lady on the phone was dismissive and rude, just stated the instructions were in the lease agree
