食事が美味しかった 大変静かでお天気がよければ星を見るのに良いロケーション残念ながらお天気には恵まれなかった（泣） お風呂もお部屋も掃除が行き届き気持ちよく過ごせた スタッフも大変親切でぜひまた星を見に訪れたいと思った

I had a fantastic stay - the rooms were very traditional, clean and had lovely views. The private onsen was really special and the meals were incredible - I really liked the private dining room spaces and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I'd love to stay again if I was ever back walking the Nakasendo Way!

This was the perfect reward for reaching Tsumago after hiking from Magome on the Nakasendo. Nestled deep among tall trees, this property felt like a hidden sanctuary with its open air onsen, welcoming staff, and superb dining. Amin was exceptionally helpful during our dinner and the front desk went above and beyond to help us navigate an alternate path back to Tokyo after we found out all trains out of Nagiso were cancelled due to rain. We were looking for a room with meals, but left feeling recharged in body and soul.

We enjoyed an AMAZING stay at Hotel Fukinomori! The rooms were immaculate. The onsens were incredible! !The staff was very kind and helpful. The shuttle service was perfect for transporting us back and forth to the train and bus stations. We highly recommend staying here.

Peaceful retreat in the forest: This gorgeous 12 room modern hotel is an oasis of calm! Shuttle pick ip from Nagisu station or the end of the Nagasendo trail parking lot makes this hotel easily accessible for those who really want to get off of the beach track! The hotel is surrounded by greenery. It boasts an outstanding traditional restaurant with an incredible kaiseki set menu for dinner. Breakfast is also provided. Private rooms for dining are available. The beautiful onsen has outdoor wooden baths as well, allowing one to soak in nature, literally!

Nice retreat

Some really nice amenities (like the private bath up the hillside—don’t forget to slide the window open so you get that hot bath in the forest experience, the lounge with coffee and tea and nice windows). And some really lovely service (thanks Adi!). Nice place to relax after doing the nakasendo way between Magome and Tsumago.

This location was ideal for us because of its remote location. We had no difficulty with accessibility to it, because the hotel offered complimentary shuttle service to and from the local train station if you pre-arranged it in advance. Food was locally sourced and exceptional in quality. The outdoor baths were relaxing as they were set among the forest. Loved the friendliness of the staff. We had no problem communicating in Japanese but did find some of the Indian staff speaking English with us difficult to understand. This accommodation was perfect for a brief respite after the Nakasendo trail.

Hôtel dans les montagnes reposant et agréable. Service de navette depuis la gare de Nagiso très pratique autant pour rejoindre l'hôtel que pour faire des excursions à la journée (Vallée d'Atira / Nakasendo). Personnel très gentil. Lieu très propre. Le dîner du soir est délicieux. Le onsen tout en bois est incroyable avec vue sur les montagnes ainsi que des bains extérieurs au milieu de la forêt (attention aucun vêtement ni maillot n'est admis dans les onsens au Japon). Le seul regret que nous avons est de ne pas être restés plus longtemps.

Fabulous for couples

This ryokan was beautiful with a spacious room and great mountain views. The onsen was particularly nice with indoor and outdoor mineral baths, a cold plunge, and a sauna. There was also a private shower in our room if you aren’t interested in the onsen experience. The half board was good but served traditional local Japanese food - great for the adventurous eater but it may not be for everyone. Though I found enough familiar things to feel full at dinner and breakfast. It was a special place, great for relaxation but probably not appropriate for children. We wished we had more days there to soak in the natural surroundings and just relax.

The lounge are was very nice as well as the public onsen. We were disappointed with the breakfast and dinner—tastes very subpar. The private onsen also disappointing…..you cannot view the stars as advertised since it is enclosed, the onsen is not from a natural hot spring. The rooms are dated. Value for money is lacking.
