THE SPACE Ay ay, captain! You’ll have your own private bedroom in an antique home with authentic seafaring roots—plus access to shared spaces that make it feel like a true home-away-from-home.

Living & shared spaces The home is filled with sun, wide-board floors, and original features. You’re welcome to enjoy the shared living room for a cozy cup of coffee or a quiet evening in. The shared kitchen is set up for light use only—perfect for simple basics like: ~ Fridge space ~ Microwave ~ Toaster ~ Coffee maker It’s not set up for cooking full meals (no stovetop or oven cooking for guests).
The good news? You’re in the perfect spot for dining out. Mystic has wonderful, award-winning restaurants just a short walk/drive away, and I’m happy to point you toward favorites depending on what you’re craving.
Your bedroom Your private room is set up for deep rest after a day of wandering Mystic—comfy queen mattress, fresh pillows, lovely linens, fluffy towels, and little thoughtful touches so you can pack lighter.
*Please note: there is no TV in the bedroom. (You’re welcome to relax in the shared living room if you’d like screen time.)*
ACCESS ~ Your own private 2nd-floor queen bedroom, plus light galley-kitchen use (fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker) for easy breakfasts and snacks. ~ You’ll also have access to shared common areas in the home (living room, kitchen, and outdoor spaces as available/seasonal). ~ Smooth sailing check-in: a Schlage keypad is on the back door for flexible arrival times. Your personal entry code will be sent the day before you arrive.
NOTES ~ Your private guest room does not include a TV (perfect for unplugging after a day in Mystic). ~ The bathroom is adjacent to your room and is private for your use only. ~ For peace of mind, the bedroom door locks from the inside. It does not lock from the outside. At this time, this is the only private-room offering in the Burrows Home, so you won’t be sharing the home with other room guests at this time.
NEIGHBORHOOD If you’re here for the classics, you’re in the right place: ~ Mystic Seaport Museum (a must-see for maritime lovers) ~ Mystic Aquarium (make a date with the belugas!) ~ Downtown Mystic’s shops, bars, and restaurants—just a 10-minute walk from the house
Maritime “only-in-Mystic” treasures Mystic Seaport Museum is home to National Historic Landmark vessels, including the Charles W. Morgan (the last wooden whaling ship) and the Sabino (a historic steam vessel). And when fall rolls around, Clyde’s Cider Mill, the oldest steam-powered cider mill in the U.S., is a can’t-miss stop from mid-September through November.
Easy, relaxed local favorites Want a low-key day after traveling? Grab a tasty lunch to-go from Mystic Market nearby, borrow our picnic basket, and head to Mystic River Park for a waterfront picnic. If you like to move a bit on vacation, you’ll love strolling or biking: ~ Haley Farm State Park (scenic trails) ~ Mystic’s charming side streets ~ River Road for a beautiful coastal walk
Day-trip options Craving a beach day? Pack one of our beach bags and towels and head to a local shoreline—or pop over to Rhode Island beaches (easy drive). Prefer sips and scenery? There are wonderful wineries and breweries nearby for an afternoon taste.
Year-round events & festivals Mystic is a place you can visit anytime. There’s always something going on, from the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival to Lantern Light Village, Santa arriving by tugboat, holiday boat parades, and more seasonal happenings throughout the year.
