Mystic Beach Conservation Area

This hotel is in a great location in Philly, and we were really looking forward to our stay. After staying, however, I’m not really sure why it is rated as “excellent.” I would give it a rating of “okay.” It could be an excellent hotel with upgrades and attention to detail. We came for my 40th birthday, and my husband and I both contacted them beforehand about possible upgrades, both via Expedia and email. I received generic responses without follow up and he did not receive a response. The front desk staff were pleasant enough when checking in, and I checked out via email. The hotel itself is in need of quite a few repairs and cleaning in the rooms. There were stains on the bedding in the main bedroom (black marks and a yellow stain), the table had a damaged spot, the wallpaper was dirty, and the rug needed a thorough cleaning and not just a general vacuuming. The kitchen had exactly 4 of everything (spoons, forks, bowls, etc.) and was minimally outfitted. Don’t expect to do more than heat things up in this kitchen. I had to go to the front desk to ask for a corkscrew (not uncommon in hotels, but would be an easy item to include with the utensils). My husband also noticed leaking in the garbage disposal. The phone did not work when I tried to call the front desk. The pool is a nice space to spend an afternoon, but the temperature of the pool was about 95 degrees on an 89 degree day. Overall fine, but not what I was expecting.

Very modern hotel and great stuff welcoming you. Location is also great.
