May I introduce myself? I am the “House by the Lake.” I stand in the heart of the Swabian Forest, in a small valley, nestled among forests and meadows. I’m surrounded by a small stream that also keeps my lake filled with fresh water. For many years, I lay in a deep slumber until my new owner kissed me awake and filled me with new life. As for me… I first saw the light of day in my current form in 1972. But in reality, I’m much older… I was first mentioned as far back as 1656. My previous owner was a loyal soul who didn’t leave me until she was very old. Then came the time of waiting for my new purpose. And I can tell you, that can sometimes take quite a long time... I am a place of peace, a moment of respite, a retreat, a source of calm, an inspiration, a companion, a soul whisperer, a source of strength, a teacher, a guide, and whatever else I may be for you... And to sum it up: a place where the soul can soar to the highest heights and then land safely and soundly back on earth. I’m situated firmly and securely in a scenic conservation area and am self-sufficient in electricity and water. Appliances over 250 watts cannot be used—e.g., hair dryers, toasters, and electric kettles. A break from the daily grind, from “normal” life—let your mind wander, retreat, and reflect on yourself. No electronic devices, no internet, no cell phones. Bed linens and towels can be added to your booking for 30 euros per person. I welcome my guests to a cozy 120 m², let them relax by my lake, and give them the chance to stroll across 3,100 m² of meadow. I think I’m a great place to stay… ;-) A break from the daily grind, from “normal” life—let your mind wander, retreat, and reconnect with yourself. No electronic devices, no internet, no cell phones. Instead, forests and meadows in abundance. Becoming one with nature again. Hear the water, smell the forest, feel the wind, and taste wild fruits. That’s what I have to offer if you’d like to spend some time with me...
