The owners are very nice, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the view sitting outside was very relaxing. Prices are very reasonable. Would definitely stay there again.

I stay here when i'm in the area. It is a old school basic motel, clean , comfortable and quiet.Drive a few miles into town and any type of food is available.

Quiet, Quaint, Clean & Comfortable!

We stay here every year and sometimes twice a year and we love it! It’s always a great experience. Although it is a small, no frills roadside motel, that is just fine, it’s quiet, quaint, clean, comfortable, very reasonably priced and the owners and staff are always very nice and accommodating! It fit us perfect and we enjoy our stay every time! Highly recommended!

Nice hotel from back in the day. Clean and provided amenities that I needed such as microwave and refrigerator. No fluff, but I appreciate the cleanliness and the way the manager handled my check-in and check out.

This hotel was good. The bed was comfortable, we didn’t have the desired hot water though. It is close to a highway, so road noise was a little loud. The owner was very nice.

The motel was very clean and fresh. It looked like it had been newly remodeled. There was a refrigerator in microwave and coffee maker. Had a nice safety bar to step in and out of the shower. Bed was very comfortable. There was a nice table and two chairs.

The room was clean. It had a mini fridge, microwave and individual coffee maker. If you have a bad back, though, it’s not the best choice because the beds are very soft … too soft to provide support. If you love soft, cozy mattresses that you sink down into, it would be perfect for you.

Good stay in Murphy

This is a nice and quiet stay with a perfect location. Very close to the Nantahala Forest. For the price it can't be beat! Some minor cosmetic repairs are needed, but nothing serious at all, and you can tell they are being worked on. The cleanliness more than makes up for it. I've stayed in chain hotels that are more expensive, but aren't anywhere near as clean as Murphy Motel is. The manager is friendly and kind, and went out of his way to make sure I had a pleasant stay! The best part of my stay was sitting outside my room at night (they have chairs!) and talking with my motel room neighbors. This has become my go-to stay for Murphy!

They were accommodating but I booked a smoking room and it's all non-smoking which was an inconvenience. The bathroom light kept flickering on and off. I never got the wifi password the whole time I was there which effected a few things. It was clean and quiet which was very nice.

The bed was VERY comfortable. The room was in need of a good cleaning...dust all over back of door (I wiped the doors, counters and sink off before using). Very easy to find, but there is nothing close by...we were starving and it was a 20 min or so trip back the way we came to find something to eat. All rooms were nonsmoking which was nice, but smoking was allowed outside right in fron of the room so you could smell smoke. For the room I felt I overpaid.

Moving to the area / one night stay

We are in the process of moving to the area from Indiana. I was taking a load to the new house from Indiana and was heading back home. I need some place to stay the night, because new house is not ready. Murphy Motel was quick and easy from it's location. The motel is older, but well taken care of. The best value for the area! The room was clean and quiet. It had a hot shower, a good heater, good bed, supplied coffee, and a TV. Probably, the only negative, the towels and bedding had been cleaned so many times, they were rough and needed to be replaced. Other than that, I would definitely go back!
