We've been staying at Range Country nearly annually since they opened. Rooms are clean and comfortable, decorated with a restrained western theme. They appear to have been recently refreshed. The hot tub is actually hot which feels great after several hours of driving. While we don't drive an EV, I appreciate that Range Country provides several charging stations.

I booked on Expedia. The platform doesn’t tell you that they have outside rooms and when I checked in, I asked for one in the lodge due to security concerns. Brett was very rude to me and complained a lot about Expedia and that platform. The hotel motel is dated but overall clean. I didn’t have a top sheet on my bed which was odd and the room was damp. The woman the next day was very pleasant and we enjoyed breakfast and checkout was easy. There aren’t a lot of options in Murdo or the surrounding towns. It is probably better to just drive by and stay in Rapid City.

South Dakotan Hospitality at this Charming Inn

Charming western-theme inn. Property was clean and well-maintained. Our room was very comfortable and bathroom was spotless. Desk clerks were kind and hospitable. If we’re in the area again, we will definitely book a stay at the Range Country Inn.

Clean and very friendly!

Everyone was so friendly! It’s a little older but everything was nice and clean. We are traveling through with our 3 small kids and this place was a great place to spend the night. The pool and hot tub were great. The pool could have been a little warmer and the hot tub a little cooler but it was still enjoyable. Breakfast was great with a lot of options. There are several cute little restaurants a few blocks away. We were very impressed and would definitely stay here again on a road trip.

Stopped on our way to Badlands and Black Hills. We liked our stay overall and found the Lodge to be comfortable and very good all-around. Location, cleanliness, ambience and staff were the main positives for us. Some things keeping it from Excellent were a chlorine smell in the lobby & hallway and the breakfast was slightly below what you would get at a Comfort Inn / Econo Lodge type place but it was still good overall.

Lodging in Murdo, South Dakota

The lodging was comfortable, and the service was good. But the breakfast food options were not good. Powered eggs were grainy and very salty. Suasage links were barely warm form the microwave, and the so-called great cinnamon rolls were some of the worst I've ever had. Enjoy the stay but spare yourself from a disappointing breakfast. Get a waffle iron and pre-made mix. That would definitely improve things.
