It is weird that you’re using a key to lock inside the door and outside the door. You would figure they would use a key card, pretty outdated place. The shower the drain didn’t really drain fast enough, so you can only have quick showers before it floods the floor. The staff was very friendly in that aspect, they have a high rating for that. But other amenities was a bit outdated. It was the only affordable place I could find during Oktoberfest and it’s walking distance from the tram to the city.

Compared to the next hotel I stayed at, the amenities of a hot water pot and microwave can be a huge help to travelers which Montree did have in the room.

Staying at Hotel Montree, Munich

The rooms mirrors advertisement. Very small, however the point of a holiday is to be out exploring. The room met the intended purpose. The owners and their dogs were very friendly. I appreciated the hotel and neighborhood was very quiet at night.

Nice place - You get what you pay for

I just needed a place to sleep, old'ish but nice. I think that for the cost it is a good place to stay. I prefer to have breakfast included, which was not an option, but I recommend just walking to Ihle at the other side of the road. Which was nice.

The hotel is in an excellent location. We were greeted by Mustafa, whose cheerful attitude and English were perfect. The rest of the staff were lovely too! As people said, the reception looks a little outdated, but I am not sure why that matters. The room was perfectly clean and the bathroom was very recently renovated (yes, it is a wet room but with the heating in the room it dries within 30 minutes). A mini fridge is in the room so it is a plus! The room was quiet, clean, warm with great mattresses and bedding. The hotel is a gem for the location, the service you get and the price! Next time we are in Munich we will look no further, but book it again straight away! :)

The hotel was OK. Clean, small rooms, with friendly and helpful staff. They let us keep our stuff at the hotel before the check in and after the check-out. All perfectly safe. Not the prettiest and not the fanciest ober all but you get what you pay for. It's a 15 minute walk to the centre of Munich, and there's a lot to eat around. Would return.

the hotel is a bit old, the rooms have carpet, they do not have air conditioning and there is little soundproofing in the rooms. the staff is very helpful, they are present 24 hours a day, there is the possibility of parking your car indoors in their reserved car park at the same price as the public one. the hotel is very well served by public transport, it is about 30 minutes from the center on foot and 35 from the Oktoberfest.

Outdated but Comfortable

First impressions was that it was in need of an update. I booked here for 2 nights based on its proximity to the stadium for the gig I was going to. I arrived ahead of check-in time and they got me into the room no problem as I needed to take a work call. The chair for the desk was threadbare and uncomfortable for longer than 5mins. The room was small but I didn't need anything bigger for just me. The bed was comfortable - I had a great night's sleep! The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

The location was great as we went for Oktoberfest so it was only a 15 minute tram ride, and the tram station is right outside the building. The bathrooms are outdated, very small shower with curtains. Shower head did not come off the holder and it was very low, so hard to shower. There was a small spider in the room as well and dust in some areas.

So, yes, the hotel is very dated and drab. The room isn’t so inviting when you arrive at night as the lighting is very low too. The cobwebs up by the curtain rail were off putting also. However, this is my second stay here, and I must say that in regards to cleanliness of the linen, bed, bathroom, the hotel does really well. I did notice a faint odour of cigarettes this time though which was disappointing. The gentleman on reception was extremely welcoming and pleasant, which is rare these days, so a big shout out to him. In terms of price and location it’s great. Just don’t expect luxury, if you’re staying for one or two nights, it’s fine if you’re on a budget and want your own room instead of a hostel.

I enjoyed just about everything about my stay at Montree Hotel. No breakfast was offered, but the staff was friendly across the board and responsive from check in to check out. Reasonably priced providing value for money, a short tram ride away from the Old Town and many other points of interest. The bed was a bit too firm my taste but that’s a personal preference and in no way detracts from my opinion that this is a good place to stay if you want to be close to, but not necessarily in the middle of everything.
