Staying at a hotel of the Leading Hotels of the World group never disappoints. Bayerischer Hof is no exception and is one of their Crown Jewels. Perfect location, spacious, luxurious rooms, focus on details and impeccable service are the reasons why it’s my first choice when staying in Munich

Great location and friendly staff. Room was a nice size but decor is unattractive and tired looking.
We loved this hotel. Full of history. Walking distance from everything with plenty of dinning options. The staff was super polite and friendly and the rooms were big. Take the breakfast option as the buffet was wonderful!
The renovation works on lobby area are extensive and inconvenient. Entrance to hotel further along and via side door. Up a flight of stairs to a temporary reception. Took ages to check in. Room ok, but aircond fan noisy. Clean room. Small bathroom. Nightclub downstairs is ok. Live music. How this was still £400 for one night stay I am unsure. The works finish before Christmas, they said. I have an office in Munich. Here once a month or 6 weeks. I’m back in Munich in two weeks but won’t be staying here ‘til 2026. Even then I’ll be checking prices.
This is a beautiful hotel, centrally located such that many of the major sights of Munich are within walking distance. The well-equipped gym and warm roof-top pool are nice respites after a day of sightseeing.
A grand old dame - style never goes out of fashion
Beautiful vintage styled room in a classically elegant hotel. The room was lovely, clean, roomy and a cozy base for us for a cold week in Munich. The lounge was comfortable and it was a great home away from home to explore Munich from. The choice of restaurants was great and the bar was gorgeous.
Amazing hotel, large and beautiful rooms and bath room, friendly and knowledgeable staff, first class.
Enjoyed the gym overlooking the Frauenkirche, Rathaus and the snow covered mountains.
The only thing the hotel could need is a hot tub. They even have the perfect spot for that: on the rooftop patio just outside of the gym.

Old School Tradional Hotel. But Tired but Iconic.
I am in Munich quite often on business and always stay at the Bayerischerhof. Swift check-in. Room ok. Hotel is a bit tured. Some renovations going on - rooms being updated, I understand.

Expensive but Good location
This hotel seems to get more & more expensive, despite being quite ‘tired’, but we have remained loyal for the best part - mainly because the location is good for us and we like the steam room. The steam room is currently out of order. We couldn’t believe it. We would’ve stayed elsewhere and paid a lot less had we known.

I loved the location. Did not like my room - so small, nor that the sink wasn’t draining-I informed front desk, didn’t change. They were doing major remodeling on my floor and hallways are long and had these steel double doors that needed someone very strong to open. Would get an eerie feeling going down the hallways.
The location can’t be beat if you’re in town for a shopping trip or sightseeing. Very centrally located and easily accessible via car, streetcar or subway.
The staff is exceptional, they make you feel special and always go the extra mile. Spa and rooftop are great too.
The rooms are a bit outdated, not really my style, but I got an upgrade to a room with a view which was nice.
Only thing I have to criticise is that the H/AC didn’t work properly, it was way too hot in my room and we didn’t really manage to regulate the temperature. Was hard to sleep. The building is old and I guess the H/AC is not as modern as other hotels‘.
Elegant property with standout fine dining and spa, but some comfort gaps for U.S. travelers.
Hotel Bayerischer Hof is a beautiful, historic hotel with warm and professional staff. The highlight of my stay—without question—was dinner at Atelier. The food was extraordinary, the staff attentive, and the entire experience unforgettable. If you’re staying here (or even if you’re not), book a reservation at Atelier—it’s truly world-class.
The Blue Spa also delivered—my massage was excellent and worth the visit. Just allow extra time, as check-in is a bit disjointed (robe and towel from the room, locker key from a separate floor).
While the hotel is grand, the in-room experience didn’t quite meet 5-star expectations. WiFi was unreliable, even with the high-speed upgrade, and there were no outlets near the bed. The TV wasn’t non-German-speaker friendly, and my Firestick didn’t work due to the weak WiFi signal. My room near the elevator was noisy at night, and though the bed was comfortable, it was two twins pushed together. The A/C struggled to cool the room and was quite loud—something to note if you’re a warm sleeper.
Overall, the service, spa, and dining deliver moments of true luxury—but the in-room experience and tech limitations may leave some guests feeling it falls just short of a true five-star stay.
