"Great stay, brilliant price, great location, fab breakfast but....... The bar servuce is terrible. Only one young lady knew what she was doing. When you know how mant people are staying, then put enough staff on to serve. When we got back from the theatre show, the queue was nearly to the door. 2 queues and they couldnt cope with that. They dont know ginger ale from ginger beer. Plus although there was a long queue they allowed 3 men to go straight to the front if the queue, buy 5 pints and ignore about 40 people standing there. When i said excuse me am i invicible, and there are 40 people here waiting all i got was a grunt from the men and your staff said "I didnt see that why didnt you tell me, I said to staff are you blind? And u got a shrug. The young lady was apoligetic and was working so hard but the young guys behind there were useless. Hard to get the attention of the chef to cook poached eggs less whinging to staff and mire cooking. Yes we could hear what he thought on various subjects. Also put the back tureens of myshrooms, etc at front. We all dont have 4ft arms. Receptionist that greeted us was lovely. We managed to check in at arrival 1. 00 pm but why ask customers to pay £30 for early checkin when you can anyway? Plus you need more disabled spaces."

"Check in and out was very easy. The rooms are large. The beds are huge. The only issue is there is no parking and the car park operated nearby is expensive for 24 hours and we stayed for two nights. I think it cost 18 for 24 hours but it was very close. The location though is perfect. Bars and shops are all very close. The location made all the difference. So much so we are rebooking for June 2027."

The Lookout, cottage in the heart of Mumbles

"The lookout is a fabulous little cottage, very close to the beach and shops/cafes/restaurants/pubs in Mumbles. The cottage itself was very clean and had everything you needed except a dishwasher but honestly due to the amount of places to eat in the Mumbles, you don't really need to cook at all. The cottage is quite small but does have a garden, which is lovely to sit out in the afternoon/evening if it's warm but the steps are very steep. The fresh herbs in the garden would be lovely additions to any meals prepared or purchased locally. The host Ruth was very friendly and replied really quickly to messages and questions. She very kindly allowed us in early and also we had a later check out as Verbo has the wrong check out time on the advert, it should be 10 am not 11 am. The only issues we had in the area was the parking, both actually parking and the parking meters and my dog getting poorly. For the parking, the turning into village lane is very tight and we did not attempt it in the campervan. There is street parking which we did find but be aware there are residents only parking areas. For the meters it might be worth getting on of the many apps or having both cards and cash. If you do need a local vet, I used Gower veterinary practice both Phebe the vet and Loretta at reception were both lovely, friendly and helpful. Overall a very enjoyable stay."

"Super accommodation; ideal for an out of season break.Kitchen well equipped but also lots of excellent places to eat within walking distance. Parking isn't protected - fine in winter but probably an issues in the summer.Bed is v v comfy and the en suite shower with a glass roof is a treat.The stairs up are quite steep and you have a second, short outside staircase to navigate (with access to your own, private outdoor space) - would be tricky if you have mobility issues.The Christmas tree was a lovely, unexpected touch and the owners were v flexible with check in/out times.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

"Cottage was clean and everything was in working order. We had a problem understanding how to use the front door key which was addressed the morning after we arrived. We did not drive a car, which necessitated using both the taxi and Uber services, both of which worked well. "
