Romantic Secluded Cabin For Two

Check out the drone video on YouTube - search "175 Looper Branch Lane, Monterey". This property - "Two's Company" - is the cabin right on the water.

The only dwelling nestled on the banks of a one and a half acre private lake, this romantic one room suite, one bath cabin is all wood inside and out. It includes a king-size bed with a two-person heart-shaped Jacuzzi beside it.

A gas fireplace is in the cozy living room and it has a fully equipped kitchen. From the porch you can walk straight down to the dock or to the grill on the other side.

As soon as you turn in the winding country road tightly hemmed by evergreens, you will begin to feel the difference in atmosphere. You have come apart from the rest of the world and this time is just for you.

Surrounding this Tennessee cabin rental is the small community of Muddy Pond on The Cumberland Plateau. Located just ten miles north of I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville, you can rendezvous for several days of refreshment, or spend your whole vacation here while exploring the beauty of the Cumberland.

We enjoyed the privacy of this cabin. It was close to some cool shops and close enough to town to visit a great Mexican restaurant and a Duncan drive through. We spent most of our time on the wonderful deck and dock and going on walks. We saw multiple deer, turkey, large trout, a water moccasin, and we even had a bald eagle visit us Everything inside the cabin was just the way we wanted it. Great stay!

Cozy cabin

We enjoyed staying at this cozy cabin for a week while our kiddos were at summer camp. Was fun to check out the Muddy Pond community, take hikes around the property, and enjoy the beautiful pond.

Quiet Getaway

Wonderfully quiet and relaxing time. Property was beautiful and clean. Unable to fish as we had hoped due to so much moss and weeds covering the pond. But, overall I enjoyed the seclusion of the property and the beautiful wooded scenery.

Enjoyed the cabin! Went for our 20th anniversary. Fishing was good, small ones, but we catch & release. Geese visited us daily. Checked out Country Porch, great breakfast sandwich! Yummy baked goods too, we went back for more! Beautiful weather, except for the last night, but all in all, worth it! Loved the deck, peaceful!

Total Relaxation

This property was so much more than what was listed. I needed to get away for some personal time and this locatiin was the perfect solution. It was a very himey atmosphere with total isolation. All the amenities were there and so much better than expected. Barbara, the host, left nothing out of the equation to make this the perfect getaway. I was so impressed that I immediately booked a return trip. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Secluded retreat

Our 2nd year staying here which normally never happens on our vacation (generally someplace different every year). We absolutely love this place. Little more noise than last year (think you have some new neighbors maybe?), but not terrible. We just love sitting on the porch listening to the sounds of nature & seeing the pond look like glass with reflections of the trees & clouds. We truly only leave to go to the store because it's just so relaxing here. Fishing was good this year & I released the big bass back into the pond but it sure was fun catching him. Saw a few snakes this year which we saw none last year but even that wouldn't prevent me from making an offer on this place if we were rich. :-)

Tranquil Getaway

Property is exactly as posted. We celebrated our anniversary surrounded by nature. Every morning a family of deer came by. Throughout the day, we sat on the back porch and enjoyed the sounds of the birds, frogs and nearby cows. My husband made a fly fishing rod from a fresh branch and fishing line we had. We caught/release 3 blue gill. Saw some 12-14 inch grass pickeral but didnt get any. Enjoyed grilling out a few nights too.We did go explore the sites....Mennonite stores, leather shop, town of Monterey and took a hike to Burgess Falls. Loved it all!

Heaven on earth!

This property is amazing! I didn't want to leave. I even extended my stay.Communiction with Barbara was fantastic. As well as Paul the property manager. The web pictures are good but it's even more serene and stunning in person. The bed was very comfortable and the place was well equiped. The tub is huge. There was plenty of hot water and the boat was super fun. Even though by myself, I felt very safe. When you did see someone, which wasn't often even though I knew they were there, everyone was extremely friendly. The sandwhiches were as great as everyone says at the Country porch. They had lots of great gift items as well. I will be back as much as possible. I highly recommend this beautuful property for peace and quiet!

Short review

We arrived and it was great! Shortly after we found that the cabin was kinda outdated but it was good. The second day we discovered we were only given a couple of towels to use for a shower, so in order to shower regularly we had to either reuse a used towel or wash and dry the same ones over and over. The water pressure is weak to say the least, the tub in the main room, we found that the stopper didn't work. I sent a message to management and didn't hear back for a couple of days, so we couldn't use the tub either. The burners on the stove, we found one cooked very quickly and hot and another we couldn't get to boil water. We love to fish but the pond isn't stocked or either of us lost our touch on fishing haha. Overall we still had a great time, probably will never stay in this particular cabin again, but again overall it was still a good secluded place to relax.

Issues especially last night

Directions confusing. Areas of cabin not clean. Last night circuit blew. No lights in living/ sleeping area, no TV, DVD, internet, microwave. Call to number given, she said I have you leaving tomorrow, I'll get someone out tomorrow . Ask about compensation since we were pd and didn't have access to above mentioned. She said she would talk with her husband. Never heard from her. Sent message asking about problem and compensation, still no answer as of 12/27/22. It's was pouring rain so could read, watch TV or a movie. Very bad especially last night. Would not stay again

Get Away

I stayed in the two's company cabin with my partner, my brother and his wife stayed in another cabin, and three other family members stayed in the third cabin. We enjoyed walking the trails, grilling and having family game nights, taking the boat out on the water and using the fire pit. The ponds are now catch and release only. We had to wash our towels and sheets over as they were not cleaned well. The towels had dingy stains and the bedsheets has a sweaty odor. I would advise bringing your own dish cloths and sponges as well. It was a nice stay, but the cleanliness factor was not up to what I expected from a highly rated property.
