「Hotel was very difficult to find, tucked as it is behind another hotel. No signage on the main road, or anywhere else. You actually have to pull up to a log cabin to discover that it’s a hotel, with Ponderosa Inn written in one of the windows, under a porch roof, as the only indication you are at the correct location. No clerk. Was supposed to get a door code but did not, had to telephone for it. However, the rRoom was nice and large and clean.」

「Quiet and clean. Ample parking. Close to the park without the crowds. I enjoy a nice restaurant but it was nice to be able to make a few meals ourselves and not eat out all the time. We especially enjoyed visiting and comparing hiking notes with some of the other guests over a cup of coffee in the morning. We sat on the back patio in the evenings and were visited by a mule deer who came to munch on the pomegranates growing in the back yard.」
