Perfect for a gathering of friends or family, this charming stone-built cottage in the hamlet of Netherton is surrounded by the wild beauty of Northumberland. Just 6 miles from the pretty market town of Rothbury and 4 miles from Thropton, where two traditional pubs serve hearty meals, the setting is an excellent base for a countryside escape. Walkers and cyclists will love the proximity to Northumberland National Park (3 miles), with its heather-covered hills, wildlife, and clear skies for stargazing in this International Dark Sky Park. History and film fans won’t want to miss Alnwick Castle (18 miles), the stately home of the Duke of Northumberland and a filming location for Harry Potter. Spend the day at Alnmouth (20 miles) to enjoy its glorious beach, or visit Craster (21.5 miles) for delicious fresh seafood.


You can either step through the front door and into this welcoming countryside home, or head in via the garage/boot room, where you can kick off muddy boots after a day of exploring. The garage space is great for storing bikes and outdoor gear, with the added bonus of an extra fridge/freezer for your holiday supplies. Continue into the hallway with a convenient cloakroom. The heart of the home is the cosy lounge, where a crackling wood burner promises snug evenings, whether you’re curling up with a book or settling in for movie night on the Smart TV. Flowing through from here is the light-filled open-plan kitchen/diner with French doors leading to the enclosed garden.
