Upper Oddington is a picture postcard village and externally this property is delightful. My children loved the garden, which is very secure and has an excellent climbing tree. However the interior was a huge let down, particularly the kitchens, which contain enough (stained / chipped) mugs for the whole village and no space for groceries. The oven in The Annex feels like it could fall out when opened, the dishwasher is suitable for breakfast and little else, basically the kitchens desperately need replacing. The whole house smells dreadful a mix between an old people's home and a wet dog - no amount of throwing open the (very tricky) windows helped. There are vermin devices under all the cupboards and while I accept this is a rural area, it didn't make for a good nights' sleep. Pillows and duvets also had a musty odour and as clients are excepted to strip them more care should be taken to what lies beneath. The Annex bed is too small, I would say three quarter not double. In short needs to be restored to the high standard advertised for the fee charged. A huge let down after the delightful cottage in Cornwall the previous week.
