The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted

Lovely house in a lovely location

Nice house with clean white bedding. The fire was lovely and the welcome goodies. Lots of space and plenty of walks (particularly liked the walk to Kingham). Good value for money. The two pubs close by were also nice. My only constructive criticism would be there's a lot of nik naks in the house (sombrero, teddies etc) which are just not needed and make it feel like you're in someone's home opposed to a rental home.

Beautiful cottage, lovely and clean

The Cottage was very clean and the large bed was Amazing so very comfortable, I have severe Arthritis and herniated discs, and I had the best sleep, better than at home. The furniture in the living room for me was too low with my problems, but it was a lovely break away for us as we lost our Son this Christmas Eve just gone, so for us it was perfect, just wandering around the pretty villages, and towns, Thank you

Cosy stay at Mulberries

We had a lovely stay at Mulberries during the Easter break with our teenagers. The cottage was quite quirky with lots of books and ornaments! The beds were very comfy with white linen and colourful throws making it feel very homely. The location was good for all of the Cotswolds villages and we especially enjoyed the pub being such a short walk away! The cottage would benefit from a full set of matching plates, bowls, cups etc. There was not a full set for four of us to use. The table was not very suitable for a cottage made for 5 people, it was very wobbly and small so we struggled to sit down to eat together. A lovely clean and tidy house with a delightful garden to sit in, the games were very welcome too! The fireplace made the cottage very cosy during the chilly evenings. All in all a very cute place to stay.

Our Second rental in Oddington

A nice home in a good location but not up to the standard we usually expect.Needs a refresh now.Firstly no handrail on the stairs to the first floor, which I believe is illegal and will certainly lead to an insurance claim if someone has a fall. No dishwasher or even a microwave or a washing machine. To be fair the description never said they has any of these.I must read more closely for future bookings. No ]gas for the BBQ but the booking said there would be after Easter. It needed a very good clean as well.No cushions for outside furniture.Pans well past there best and not many matching plates .Blinds in our bedroom constantly catching on window handles,a nuisance No where near our standard which is set bt Rural Retreats. Would not book again

Comfortable property in lovely location

A more modern property than our usual stays but still quite quirky. The kitchen was a decent size with plenty of worktop space and a good sized fridge, however it did lack a dishwasher. Off this was a good sized enclosed garden, which my dogs were happy in. A nice sitting/ dining room, the settee and chairs though slightly worn were comfortable and the dogs loved the fur covered bean bag left for their use. There were lots of books throughout the house as well as games and DVDS ( though we didn't see a DVD player). The beds were comfortable and had lovely white bedding on. The bathroom was clean and very nice ,the shower over the bath but still a decent size shower head. There were lots of interesting ornaments throughout the property and plants in several rooms which gave a homely feel and less of just a holiday property. The few draw backs were the bottom oven didn't work too well though there was a top oven so we did manage, there were no oven gloves which I do think should be addressed , and no dishwasher ( which we probably missed when booking) The property was warm, comfortable and in a fabulous location with lovely walks from the village and within a few miles of many lovely interesting places. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and through staying in this village discovered many smaller , beautiful villages, less well known villages we hadn't visited before. There are also 2 good pubs in the village itself and several more with a 3 mile radius all serving good food. A really good base to stay. We have used Stay Cotswolds in the past and would always use for stays in the Cotswolds and recommend to all my friends and family.
