Room and bathroom were clean and tidy. Reception was good and friendly but unattended when we arrived anx a short wait. Room on second floor with no lift. Parked in road outside hotel. Dinner served in dining room, reasonable choices, €15 for 2 courses, bread and drink, very good value. Tea station, free, honesty bar. Would stay again.

This is not your cookie cutter accommodation. Each room is beautifully and uniquely decorated, very clean with garden doors overlooking the quaint village street and countryside. Very friendly hosts work hard at meeting your needs. There is a lovely patio out back to enjoy a quiet moment. Easy street parking as you do need a car if you are going to explore the area. Caution:As with much of Europe, the hotel is multi level with no elevator. I would come back.

Beautiful quaint hotel. Lots of artefacts around tbe property as decor, very interesting. Clean comfy room. With small balcony. Tea and coffee provided. Patio area with a resourced kitchen including soft drinks to be paid for. Honesty box. Lovely breakfast, had scrambled eggs on toast. Lovely staff. Nothing too much trouble.

Small town with a big heart ❤️ amazing friendlines

Beatriz welcomed us with a very friendly smile and made sure we were able to have lunch even thought the kitchen was ready to close

Wonderful

Only stayed the one night but could quite happily stayed longer. Bea was an excellent host, so friendly and welcoming. My room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Had dinner in the hotel and it was plentiful and worth €15 with wine. Breakfast (not included in my booking) paid separately was ample with plenty of choices. Highly recommended and would stay again if in the area. Thanks Bea 😊

Very friendly staff and welcome,,,, but,,,, hotel room was cold (no heater) and one room had no serviceable shower head holder (hand held shower only). No power point near the bed, and incredibly poor lighting. Nice honesty bar and courtyard. Rated 4 star, but I would class it as 2

A little gem on way back to Santander ferry.

We stayed here 2 nights on our return from Portugal to the ferry back to UK from Santander. We chose the hotel for a rest-over, as it is dog-friendly and is very well-placed for an easy morning 1 hour and 40 minute journey to the Santander check-in at midday. Monzón is a quiet little place with 3 bars, a restaurant, a refurbished castle which appears closed 6 days a week, at least, and this hotel. The restaurant opposite was also closed the day we arrived and so we ate in the small dining area of the hotel. The food was excellent, with a sufficient choice and served as a onne-plated meal with a starter, main course and side dish all on one large platter. Alongside this was offered wine and a dessert. All for 15€. It was served quickly and with a smile, it was hot and tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed it so looked no further for our second evening's meal. The hotel is clean, quiet and the owner and staff are very friendly. You cannot ask for more, at such a reasonable price. It is well-placed for a visit to Palencia and we recommend a walk along the Canal de Castilla and a visit to the impressive cathedral in the charming city. We are always looking for dog-friendly hotels en-route to and from Santander. I think this will become a regular! Thank you for letting us stay with our appreciative dog! Paul and Linda and Saffi.

Fabulously eclectic.

A warm welcome from the lovely Beatrix you are immediately struck by the chic decor and calming aromas. The owners have clearly spent a lot of time curating the decorative furniture, from the classic bicycle in the courtyard to the classical wash stand. The rooms are comfortable and there is a vast array of complimentary infusions available on the landing. Very convenient location if you’re heading for the ferry at Santander.

Very noisy hotel, front door slammed every time someone entered or left, plumbing from all rooms noisy, tea and coffee facilities in the hallway but this meant people chatting outside in the hallway, we could hear people having sex, 2 rooms away and the people next door laughing at them. Noise from restaurant opposite until close at 12.30am, we could hear all the traffic including the trains throughout the night. Very expensive for what you get, this property needs a total update and soundproofing before anyone stays here. Awful!!

Un hotel rural con encanto al lado de Palencia

Un hotel muy bien ubicado para ver Palencia y alrededores sin preocuparse por el jaleo y la dificultad de aparcamiento. El pueblo tiene cosas que ver y hay puntos de interés cerca aparte de la capital. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas. Está todo muy bien decorado y hay servicio de infusiones y agua gratis. Tiene un patio con bar móvil para tomarse algo en cualquier momento. La única pega que le veo es que el desayuno acaba muy pronto, a las 10. No es tipo buffet pero sí bastante completo. Por otro lado, no sé si fue algo puntual pero las de la limpieza estuvieron hablando a gritos desde que empezaron a trabajar y así es difícil descansar. Por último, recomiendo evitar el restaurante para las cenas. Pero eso ya lo dejo para otra reseña al tratarse de un establecimiento diferente.

Hotel con mucho encanto. Muy bien decorado, original y con mucho gusto. Atención personal de 10. Atentos y con predisposición a resolver cualquier duda, de hecho han sido tan resolutivos que nos han reservado cena en el restaurante de enfrente ya que llegábamos algo tarde. El desayuno genial.
