La Posada Pintada

"I might be a little harsh but the hotel was in the process of closing down for the season, and to do things in anticipation of the new season a couple of months from now. In addition (though certainly not their fault) many of the nearby stores were closed, again because this is "off season." I might add that the woman who innitially checked me in was curt. When I asked about places to hike, she suggested that my age (72) might not be up for such hiking. I may be 72, but I am in very good shape, and each week, typically hike more than 50 miles. I later learned that she has only been working there for two ot three weeks, I would suggest that she needs a lot to learn."

"I was so happy to find a laundry here. The staff was very helpful, breakfast was wonderful and, best of all, there were mugs and glasses in the room. I really don’t like drinking out of paper and plastic in a beautiful hotel"

"You’re staying here for the convenience of being right at the entrance to Monument Valley, and having access to sunset, sunrise, and the starry night sky. The view from the ground floor room was wonderful. Restaurant was okay, but doesn’t have much competition. Choices for breakfast were better than dinner."

"We stay at this hotel once every year. This time we got a room with a shower that was pretty amazing. It is a clean and comfortable place to stay but it is not modern and fancy. Don’t expect much for the Continental breakfast they offer. Otherwise it’s a good safe bet."

"The online check-in was easy, and the room was clean and functional. The only complaint we have is with the bed. It was a double, which is rather small for two people. Also, the mattress was extremely soft, and any movement caused the bed frame to creak significantly."

"This is a charming motor in that is well-maintained and still has some character from the early days of car travel. The check-in went well with a friendly manager/owner. The unit was clean and comfortable and even the in-room coffee was tasty! The room has a small fridge, which is great for cooler stuff, and a microwave. There's a small breakfast but I left before it was available. Definitely value for the cost and fun to stay in an old-school motor lodge. I'm happy to support such a business."
Kokopelli Inn

"The motel was convenient to my needs. Just don't count on food from the K-C Gas station next door. (The rug could use a shampoo), but housekeeping did an efficient job of keeping my room clean."
