Beautiful room- overlooking beach

Perfect location overlooking the beach in monterroso!! Beautiful balcony and room with loft and AC! Downside was the hotel had no reception desk, and no kitchen area or laundry services. Still fantastic spot for beach trip!

Excellent location! Clean rooms and commun areas. Good size rooms and bathrooms. Great shower! The best part was by far the shared balcony/terrace! The view was lovely and we had a wonderful time relaxing after a long day of walking!

Location, location, location!

Couldn’t pick a better location. Quiet but close to beach, restaurants, town activities and even the train station. Everything within walking distance. It is not a hotel type place for the pampered since there is not a lobby or host on site. They are only a telephone call away though. There was a view of the ocean from the balcony of our room and also the common area. Very nice, modern, comfortable and well kept room.

Lovely room, and a great location

This is really more like an apartment than a room...from our window, we could overlook the Promenade and the the Ligurean Sea. Fabulous. Simple bed and bathroom, but there was an additional room with another bed that was all but hidden. Also, just a few steps from the train station, restaurants, and gelato. The only issue at all was the main office is in a separate building, something not uncommon in Italy, but certainly consistently annoying. After searching a while, a person suggested where to go from a balcony. Then, no elevators, so had to lug the bags up a few flights of stairs. Great location, fair price.

Don't trust your reservation!

We booked at least 7 months in advance to make sure we stayed somewhere close to the beach, and also to find a property that could accommodate a family. Our family room at Lo Scoglio was confirmed, in writing, so I looked no further. A week before our stay, I contacted the property to confirm our arrival time, and to also confirm where we needed to go to check in. Beppe replied with the details and all seemed fine. Then the worst happened - 4 days before our stay, Expedia got in touch to say that the hotel had overbooked and we no longer had a confirmed reservation! We had to find new accommodation which in the first week of July was almost impossible. Thank goodness for Expedia who managed to find us something, otherwise our holiday would have been completely ruined. If you are travelling to Monterosso, I suggest you give Lo Scoglio a big miss!

Very disappointing

After being taken to a room - would consider it an upgrade from a backpacker's lodge - (up 5 flights of stairs) and our bags dropped off, we were then told that our booked room would not be ready until the following day, because a baby was ill and could not be moved. We were OK with that until we met another couple while staying there who were told exactly the same thing - the owner had double booked and we were the casualties. No compensation given (upgrade/breakfast/drinks or apology)

Convenient B&B across street from beach.

Very nice staff; very helpful. Check in is a block away from the actual B&B which has a common area for other folks staying there. However during our 2.5 days we never saw another tenant. Room had a beach view right across the street. It also had a beach view terrace. Very convenient to the Cinque Terre hiking trail.

L'hôtel est très difficile à trouver notamment quand on a pas internet et le fait qu'il n'y ait pas de réception est très embêtant. Une fois installé ça va mieux!

There is no reception in winter and you have to call the attendant. It is not a hotel but a big apartment with rooms. The rooms are modern and clean and well equipped and is near the train station

La chambre se situe en front de mer dans un ancien appartement réhabilité une partie commune qui dessert de très belles chambres récentes et bien équipées. Pas de commentaire sur le personnel puisque ici vous ne louez que la chambre il n y a pas de restauration
