Check in was odd. I requested 1 queen bed. When I checked in the woman was like you requested 1 bed but we gave you a room with 2 beds. Umm ok.. I was asked not to use 1of the beds.. why not they gave me 2 beds?? lol … also I’m sure the placement of the bed in front of the dresser is not accessible even for an able bodied person. Decent for a one night stay.

The room was very nice, the staff was helpful and nice. The hotel was close to the wharf and restaurants. It was strange not having any information about the hotel in the room. The other guests were loud so it was difficult to sleep.

The room was clean, but everything there is very old. There was an old musty smell in the room. The room is dark and lighting is dim. This is a place to just go sleep as the room is not a place where you would want to sit and relax. There is a desk chair but otherwise the bed is only place to sit. The pillows were small square pillows. More like size of throw pillows. I’m glad I brought my own. The staff was very nice and friendly. Like I said if you just need a clean room to sleep this will do. But definitely not a place to spend time in the room. Air conditioning and heating worked but it was extremely loud and blew the curtain up. So could not keep it on if you wanted to be in bed because anyone walking by room could look inside.

Stayed in room #110 (first floor near street), and it smelled like mildew! Had the windows open both nights I was there. Curtains near tv stand did not close properly, and I had to secure them with a hair clip. Outside of building looked unkept, looks nothing like the photos on this site. Parking was tight and limited, had to park on street both nights. Would not recommend this place, given there were 5 other hotels in the same street that were more appealing.

Very tight parking spaces. Generally quiet location, except for a 20+ minute thump & bang session from directly above our ground floor room at 2AM. Light fabric window curtain had noticeable mold spots, probably due to its location above the AC unit. Otherwise, the room was clean and neat.

We love this little motel. It's near everything. It's clean and quiet. Staff is nice and friendly. Carmel is 10-15 minutes away. Monterey Bay is 10 minutes away close to PCH for your drive to Big Sur.

Parking was great, the ac was nice and cold, check in was super easy, staff was so sweet and helpful, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect! It was a little far from things (around a 40 minute walk to the aquarium while walking at a kids pace) but we didn’t mind the walk, but my only reason for lowering my rating is that one of the two beds smelled heavily of urine. I don’t want to be too critical because you can honestly tell that the staff put a lot of effort into making things enjoyable for their guests, and this might’ve just been an unfortunate thing. We had brought our own sheets and Lysol, so we shrugged it off, but I thought I should mention it.

I stayed at the Arbor Inn for 4 nights, and it worked out well for me. I'm an artist who came into town for an opening in Carmel. I was in the last building on the 2nd floor. Though the place was full each night, there was plenty of parking. It seemed well constructed and quiet. My favorite part was the good, strong shower! I would recommend it for the budget-minded traveller! It is also centrally located to everything on the Monterey Peninsula.

Spent a mere 24 hours at this location. Proprietors of the business seemed kind. Good location, central to all of the sights. Parking spaces were narrow but otherwise we were pleased. Rooms were updated and clean.

We found a cockroach in our room crawling on the night stand. the AC turned on and off every 30 mins. We didn’t feel clean or comfortable in our room.
