SoPinky! Studio on Leaders Avenue

One Love! And welcome to SoMom Lodgings in MoBay, Jamaica! Come and be enchanted at one of my studio apartments or cottage. Though small and quaint, they have tons of charm! Situated on an acre of land full of fruit trees, feel free to pick what is in season! Rentals have their own entrances, full mini kitchen, fan, double bed, internet connection, clean bathroom and the most amazing backyard. At night you’ll hear crickets, dogs, music and then some! You’ll be living the real MoBay life!
The space
Upon passing through the secure outer gate, you will take the path which is to the left of the main house, around to the back where the Pinky apartment is has its own private entrance facing the back yard.

The main house is surrounded by 1 acre of land with over 15 fruit trees including Mangos, Avocados, Ackee, Breadfruit, StarFuits, Nestberry, etc. and can be experienced depending on the time of year of your visit, you can pick and eat your own fruits! If you come in June and July, Boy! You're in luck, we have 5 different kind of mangoes, August and September, 3 types of Avocados!

As you enter the front door, you’ll see that the apartment is split into two rooms. The light switch is behind the door! The first room is the kitchen which leads to the steps up into the bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with two sinks, mini fridge/freezer, toaster oven, mini gas oven, kettle and a bodum to make coffee. Standard kitchen utensils, pots, pans, strainer, flatware, plates, bowls and glasses are all there, but if there’s something specific needed for your meal preparation, don’t hesitate to ask! I’ll do my best to help. The larger sink can be used to wash big items or hand wash clothes in. There is a long clothesline outside and cloth pegs can be provided. Note, if you wash your clothes, don’t leave them out if there’s a chance of rain, they end up smelling very musty :(

The bathroom has a small vanity sink, toilet and standup shower. A new shower head has been installed, so the pressure is amazing. But as a disclaimer, Jamaica is known for interrupting water service from time to time, so if it’s a trickle, just what a bit, it will get restored!

The bedroom is well appointed with a wardrobe, table, chair, fan, bedside table, lamp and a firm double bed. The cottage gets the mornings first light, so if you’re not a morning person, draw the blackout curtain to avoid the sunrise. Against the fuchsia pink wall (which is the inspiration for the cottage name) I’ve left a few books for your reading leisure, but please leave them for future guests :)


As the cottage is eastern facing, the sun rises right in front of you. Enjoy sitting outside and having a coffee outside on your little stoop! And there’s no better spot to be at the end of the day having a Red Stripe. Optionally, explore the property, have a layabout in one of the hammocks.

Another interesting feature on the property you likely won’t find elsewhere … a trampoline! Yup, if you’re a kid at heart, give it a go! Future projects in the works are two new tree houses!
Guest access
Guests have access to the back yard and to the little meditation center next door(for donation). Parking is also available on premises.

With notice, I can provide an amazing breakfast with eggs, toast, plantain, fruits and coffee of tea for $12 usd.
