"Big hotel. Big rooms. Great pools. Modern, with conference style feel. Remarkable buffet, no need to go up the road and pay extra. Chocolate fountain on two nights. No decaff tea - go next door to the cliff after dinner for that. VidaMar suited us as a great base (we didn’t rent a car), we used bus or booked trips. The ‘west’ jeep discovery tour is a must. Plus all the other go-to places. Walk to Camera de Lobos and get the bus back. Madeira exceeded our expectations. "

"Great hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The place was very clean. It was great having access to all of the facilities of the park hotel next door. Location was perfect, closer to the “old town” Funchal than most of the hotels, about a 20 min walk to the center, but great area near a lot. Overall I felt very safe, only thing to note is that there is no one at the front desk between midnight and 7am, but you will need your key card to get into the building...

Lovely boutique hotel on excellent location
"Very good communication prior to arrival, clear instructions. The hotel is well located in Monte area, next to the cable car and Monte Tropical Garden. Room was spacious, comfy, well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with repeating but wide choice of good quality food. The restaurant itself is excellent, we dined a few times, perfect seafood, big portions at fair prices. The staff was more than friendly and accommodating - to mention just a few - Sonia, Hugo. Strongly recommended, would definitely go back again"
