The Fairy House: historic house on four levels, with two terraces and two hanging gardens
In the heart of the medieval village of Monforte d'Alba, La Casa della Fata welcomes up to four guests in a house that preserves its medieval structure, ancient walls and a particular arrangement of rooms on several levels.
The restoration respected the existing architecture, enhancing the history of the house through carefully chosen materials, furnishings and details. Brick vaults, exposed stone, antique beams and earth-tone walls create a warm and cosy atmosphere.
The layout of the house
The rooms are spread over three floors connected by internal stairs, to which is added a fourth external level, accessible by descending a staircase from the kitchen floor. Stairs are therefore part of everyday life in the house.
• On the entrance floor there is an entrance hall, the living room with a large sofa and an armchair, the Smart TV and a panoramic terrace.
• Upstairs are the two bedrooms, one double and one with a king size bed, a bathroom with shower shared between the rooms and a second terrace.
• Downstairs from the entrance are the fully equipped kitchen, the dining room and a service bathroom with toilet, sink and washing machine, without shower. On the same floor there is a hanging garden with an outdoor dining area, equipped with a table and six chairs, easily accessible from the kitchen.
• From the kitchen floor, an external staircase leads to the second hanging garden, on the lowest level of the property.
The bathrooms: a useful clarification
The house has a bathroom with shower on the bedroom floor and a service bathroom on the kitchen floor. The shower is therefore only one, shared between the guests of the two rooms.
The outdoor spaces
Two panoramic terraces and two private hanging gardens accompany the different levels of the house, offering views of the roofs of the village and the landscape of the Langhe.
The hanging gardens are lined with light gravel, without a lawn. Outdoor furniture, such as armchairs and sofas, is prepared only in the summer season; at other times of the year, the spaces are not set up for outdoor living.
The light and the atmosphere
The lighting is warm and atmospheric, designed to accompany the historic character of the rooms and enhance the stone, the vaults and the details of the house. The internal stairs have dedicated spotlights.
The House of the Fairy is a house to discover floor by floor, with different spaces where you can be together or carve out a moment of quiet.
Its location in the village of Monforte d'Alba allows you to experience the atmosphere of the town and to set out to discover the Langhe, among wineries, local cuisine and wine landscapes recognized by UNESCO.
