"The Gite served as a base for our exploration of the Arras region. The village is lovely with a lot of history - please try the fare at the local bakery. The Gite itself is small with 3 bedrooms but with potential to sleep 6. Having this number stay would perhaps be problematic with regard to the sitting room which, although comfortable, is small (but more than adequate for our stay). "The staff is great, even I am slightly late, he is keen to help and mention he lives in the same property so I can reach out if I have issues with my keycard. The room size is acceptable but the bathroom is very tiny, it is very hard to turnaround in the shower room. Equipments are a bit old and slightly unclean. Mattress is a bit old too. While the room/hotel is non-smoking, I feel like I can smell smoke inside the room. The heater was not warm enough even if it is in mid-March. Plenty of parking space. Not a minus but please note there is no water kettle or hairdryer. "

"We arrived at 1.50pm. The hotel seemed empty but we were told we could not check in until 2pm. We went and sat in our car until 2pm after no early check in was offered. The man on reception, he felt like he was our boss and offered a poor service. The room was warm and the bed not comfortable. We had a drink at the bar and the same member of staff served us but it appeared as if it was an inconvience to serve us. No one else was around, it was not as if he was busy dealing with other people. Not a pleasant stay"

" The hotel is ideally situated for the centre of town with many good bars and restaurants. Free parking is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The standard room we had was clean and comfortable with all we needed, unless you're a tea freak. There was a pod coffee maker in the room. There is a Friday fruit and veg market worth a visit and interesting attractions within easy reach. An award winning bakery provides an excellent continental breakfast with tables outside on the Grand Square. We lived in France for 10 years but this was our first visit to Bethune and the Hotel Eden. It was a very enjoyable location in which to chill out and relax. We'll be back."
