"We stayed in one of the suites on the 8th floor over black rock. The rooms are clean and have a great view. You can tell the hotel is aging from random sewer smells and electronics not always functioning well but you’re in Hawaii so it doesn’t affect you much. They did change the breakfast buffet to be inside now that they added a nighttime Italian restaurant. The staff was lovely. As of October 2026, the walk to Whaler’s village is obstructed as the sidewalk fell apart. You must walk on the beach for about 50 feet to bypass it."

The staff was lovely, the on-site amenities and restaurants suited our needs and by the end of the stay we truly felt like “ohana”. Couldn’t have picked a better stay for our honeymoon."
