We enjoyed the historic charm of the hotel, and it was incredibly easy to drive to from multiple directions. The staff was universally pleasant and accommodating to some unusual requests (one of us got sick during our stay). The afternoon tea offered on weekends was truly fabulous: delicious and elegantly served, with piano music accompaniment. This was so much better in every way than a generic “big box” hotel.
