3 bedrooms: 1 king, 1 queen, 1 double twin bunkbed
First bathroom - Main Floor
Second bathroom - Basement walkout
(Basement bathroom was completed in April 2024)
(Basement Walkout Living Space currently unfinished until 2025)
All bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated and include plush amenities such as lavender memory foam mattresses, plush bedding and amenity trays with ecologically-minded luxury toiletries.
White linen service:
All linens included in your stay, professionally washed offsite. Duvet covers changed and professionally washed between each guest stay.
Kitchen with appliances (stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave) large dip coffeemaker as well.
Big dining room windows overlook South lake.
Living spaces are large and comfortable - 1 living room on the main floor and 1 unfinished space on the lower level (renovations coming soon).
The main floor living room is a wonderful place for conversation and laughter with incredible views out to South Lake. The living room is set up with a wood burning fireplace, 65" television (free Netflix, Disney, Prime, and Stack TV.
Board games and a walk out to the patio overlooking the lake.
Patio overlooking South lake with patio chairs around a large fire pit. Everything you need for the fire is provided - Firestarter, kindling & wood for 2 bonfires, as well as warm blankets to keep you toasty. A wonderful place in the warmer months to share a meal together, with the feeling of being up in the trees immersed in nature.
The dock is near the back of the property (see pictures).
The water is deep immediately off the dock, perfect for jumping into the lake and mooring your rental boat. At the end of the night enjoy our Muskoka chairs while looking up, taking in the vast night starry sky.

We may consider requests for small, intimate weddings (12 guests), working with event planer. So your wedding details taken care of so that you can focus on the magic moments of your wedding day at Hemlock Hideaway.
Guest access
For summer:
Free parking for the cottage is available (no inside garage parking available). There is ample parking on the driveway..
For winter:
A 4x4 (all wheel drive) vehicle is necessary in the winter.
The laneway leading to the cottage is regularly maintained by the municipality and plowed, as well as the top parking lot, however, snow accumulates quickly in Minden Hills and a 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary for your safety as there are steep hills on the way to the cottage. Parking in the winter is at the top of the driveway, about a 10 ft. walk to the cottage, good winter boots are strongly recommended.
Never attempt to step out unto the frozen lake near the dock, any ice in this area will be thin given the bubbler creating open waters to protect the dock.
There is a snowmobiling trail that goes out unto Lake Muskoka a two-minute walk away from the cottage. If you see fresh snowmobile tracks, it is safe to venture out unto the lake. A very cool experience walking out unto the frozen lake, a lake with depths of 250 feet in places.
Other things to note
-There is a keypad lock you can use to self-check in when you arrive
- We have a portable Bluetooth speaker you can take down the the yard to use
- We offer a ground coffee maker
- We offer a propane BBQ
- Also provide a smoker for your smoking meat needs.
- A selection of lawn games
- Board games (Selection of board games, puzzles and some books).
- There will be a bundle of firewood leaning up against the shed you can use as much of as you want. I can also give you the number of someone you can buy more wood from and pick up or have delivered.
- There's also a bylaw so no fires are allowed before 7pm - no idea why but I also don't want you to get fined.
- There's a full kitchen and dishwasher (please do your own dishes before you leave) and all the main cooking and bbq utensils you'd need.
- The water off the dock is only about chest height, so don't deep dive, but a shallow cannonball will work. The water gets deep about 20 ft further out.
- The cottage is also on a septic tank, so please only put toilet paper in it and while the water is unlimited, it's also not a good idea to have more than like 4-5 quick showers in a short time frame.
- The water is from the well and and it is safe to drink.
- 3-night minimum stays on long weekends and during summer
