Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Our group of friends ended up booking this property at the last minute after discovering that the home we had originally reserved for our trip to Marseille was a scam. Chris was accommodating enough to accept our same-day booking, and given the stressful circumstances, we were grateful to have somewhere to stay. Unfortunately, because everything happened so quickly, we did not thoroughly inspect the property or take videos documenting its condition upon arrival—something we now deeply regret.While the home generally matches the listing photos, it is clearly lacking in maintenance and cleanliness. Because the property is surrounded by trees and nature, there were an excessive number of insects inside the house, including spiders and spider webs in nearly every room, mosquitoes, and even cockroaches. This is not an acceptable environment for guests and made it difficult to feel comfortable during our stay.The cleanliness of the home was also disappointing. Several cups in the kitchen still had visible lipstick stains from previous guests, indicating they had not been properly washed. The oven was extremely dirty, emitted a strong unpleasant odor, and was difficult to use for cooking. Downstairs, we found a broken toilet seat, a loose trash can lid, and a toilet flush button that did not work. These issues were present when we arrived.Despite all of these problems, we chose not to make an issue of them because we understood our reservation had been made at the last minute
