One of only two restored Frank Lloyd Wright-designed American System-Built Homes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is open for public.

All Mission Style furniture, Stickley Sofa and Chairs, and many built-in Frank Lloyd Wright designed furniture.

4 Bedrooms (One King, Two queens and one full size beds), 2.5 huge bathrooms, a daybed with trundle in the sleeping porch(two Twins), Maximum of 10 people (if add a full bed in the office).

A two night minimum stay is required.

Frank Lloyd Wright signed the actual building permit in 1916. A true Prairie Style original. Light-filled rooms create a warm, organic living space. Maple floors throughout, 80 leaded glass windows, built in bookcases and armories, tray ceilings, natural fireplaces. Spacious, vintage Danish-designed Poggenpohl kitchen. Amazing stained glass skylight floods staircase with light. Generous master suite with en-suite bath, natural fireplace, and many built-ins. Private, mature landscaped yard with deck.

No pets, no smoking.

Taliesen Weekend

We loved staying in this property on our Frank Lloyd Wright weekend! It’s a two hour drive from Taliesen, but really helped the weekend feel complete to stay in this spacious house that was right on theme. We loved all of the details and the kind host.

This is a great place to host a 4 year old’s birthday and a 34 yo birthday. Very comfortable surroundings. Great cooking kitchen. Excellent owners

Cool historic property!

Beautiful architecture and authentic furnishings make this a cool spot to spend a few days. Host was highly responsive and clear in/out details were clearly outlined. We would love to stay again.

Beautiful property!

The house was beautiful, clean and had all the necessary supplies/dishes/etc. and the backyard porch was great for relaxing. Joan was very prompt in communications and arranged our temporary street parking passes, which was greatly appreciated! The location/neighborhood was convenient for going everywhere we wanted and we never had an issue finding a parking spot on the designated street. The only downside (the only teason we didnt give 5 stars) was that there was a lot of street noise at night (people driving by with car stereo volume cranked way up) which made falling asleep somewhat tough.

I have ALWAYS wanted to stay in a Frank Lloyd Wright house! What a gorgeous home! Joan was very accommodating. We were there for a family wedding. Close to airport, close to downtown. Loved it.

Fun stay in historical home

Fantastic restoration of a wonderful Frank Lloyd Wright home, really a rare treat. The woodwork, hardware, windows, and even furniture are all just great. Loved it.

Great experience

We truly enjoyed our stay here. There was plenty of space for 6 adults. The kitchen was well modernized and stocked with many common tools. Many of the historic features of the home have been preserved.

What a treat to stay in this historic house!

My two friends and I were on a Frank Lloyd Wright tour and were delighted to be able to stay in this house in the Burnham Block (six houses he designed) in Milwaukee. The house is spacious and the beds are comfortable. The two and a half bathrooms gave us privacy and were convenient. In the kitchen we found everything we needed for preparing meals. It is charming and a delight to stay in.

Nostalgic ambiance

Charming home with distinct and authentic vibe of FLW. Comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, lots of space to sit and chat. The only thing standing in the way of a 5-star rating is the lack of driveway and the noise of local traffic, otherwise a very special stay in Frank Lloyd Wright home.

Great to stay in a FLW house.

We had a wonderful stay in an incredibly beautiful historic home. Surprisingly comfortable considering the home is over 100 years old. It was nice to have the bedrooms upstairs and separated from the living spaces downstairs. The wood work and detailing is incredibly beautiful. Will stay again the next time we are in Milwaukee.

Beautiful, historic Frank Lloyd Wright home. Spacious, comfortable beds, very well maintained and excellent hostess, Joan. Parking requires adherence to MKE odd/even rules; be aware of them, but not difficult to follow.

relaxing stay at FLLW house

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this charming house. The home has been restored to be consistent with Frank Lloyd Wright's vision of architecture. You really get the experience of living in a FLLW designed home while still having enough amenities for a comfortable stay. There wasn't anything that we needed during our stay that wasn't provided. Joan was a great host and very responsive.

Wonderful house

My family had a wonderful stay at the Frank Lloyd Wright designed house. It was me, my husband, our two children (ages 3 and 6) and my dad. There was plenty of room for us all to be comfortable. We were in town for a wedding at the PBR Brewery and the house was only a 10 min drive away. A perfect location for us to explore Milwaukee. Thank you, Joan!

Historic Location

This place has so much history and was amazing to see up close. The hosts were great to deal with and very responsive. Parking is plentiful and easy, just make sure to follow the odd/even schedule. The street can be noisy at times, and the front bedroom can pick up the noise, but it was not anything that kept me awake. We stayed with a group of friends, and everyone was comfortable. If you're attending an event at American Family Field, this is a great place to stay and catch a taxi, especially if you have a larger group.

A chance to stay in a piece of art

This house is really a piece of art. Every aspect of it is clearly consciously crafted to be beautiful as well as practical. The owners have filled it with period-appropriate (and comfortable) furniture, lamps, etc., so the whole house has a cohesive feel. We had planned to go out one morning, but instead spent the time enjoying and observing some of the details. Don't miss a chance to stay in a real Frank Lloyd Wright house!

FLW - Burnham Block Beauty

We have stayed at three FLW creations. This was a gem. The property was fully restored beyond the original owners features. The “as designed” enhancement of the stained glass windows was really a huge improvement and add to the house. We enjoyed the tour of the two corner properties that are available for tour and could see the bones of house and what an immense project the renovation of this house must have been. I was pleasantly surprised to find this house available by VRBO and would highly recommend the special experience.
