Well this was a surprise. We arrived later in the evening and the cabins were kind enough to call and let us know how to access the cabins.
When we got there it was very dire, however. it is possible most of the tenants are AT hikers and don't care about accommodations, but that isn't us. It was the first time i 5 years my husband wanted to leave right away and find another place to leave. The bath sink was held up by a radiator due to someone having pulled it off the wall. Spiders and cobwebs in the corners of the rooms. Holes and major dents in the walls. I imagine it could get frustrating to care for a property that others tear down in a single use but i do think as much as they are booked it could use to drop some money and get these to appropriate living conditions. We stay late in the park as we didn't want to come back and spend any time there. they did have a nice grill, however and felt cleaner to stay outside.

Cozy cabin near Baxter State PARK
Overall, satisfied. One complain is that even though I reserved through Expedia with credit card information, hotel made me pay trough PayPal, otherwise reservation get cancelled. Hotel wanted to save Expedia fees? It was bit of extra works.
Room was ok, but water for shower was inconsistant (hot to cold repeatedly). Only one set of towels for two guests. When we went to office, the light was on but no one came to the door. When we talked to the manager, he was very nice and gave us muffins as we were leaving. There is no outside lighting. The sidewalks are very uneven.
- though nighttime temperatures dropped to 50F - as predicted! - there was no heating that worked in this uninsulated cabin. At temperatures like that a cabin needs a heating that is customer-suitable: one-click (on/off or temperature selection). But this heating was out of order (needs to be checked at this temperatures!) or it had a complex mechanism without any kind of instructions.
- extra blankets were promised (since no duvet) but only one blanket for two beds provided. And then no heating...
- WiFi was incredibly unstable. This isn't free WiFi this is WiFi-free zone!
- this accommodation isn't very expensive but much too expensive for what you get!
I found these cabins on the internet...they looked so nice and the write up of the place sounded so good. It wasn't anything like it said it was. We did manage to stay the whole week that we had reserved.
We arrived late after a long drive and cabin was open with the light on. No toilet paper! No soap! The nearest store is 20 miles away. We stayed 2 nights. No housekeeping. Never saw a soul that worked there. I’ll go camping next time.
nothing 5 star here , just you're basic mini cabin, it was clean, staff was friendly , the grounds were nice , fire pit etc .... no complaints
if you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay on the outdoorsy side of things , this is it !!

The cabins were cute & cozy - a little close to neighboring cabins, but good for the couple nights we stayed there while hiking at Baxter State Park. Basic accommodations, but that's all we needed. :) Thanks for having us!

Served the purpose.
This place is the perfect place to go for a quick stay. Not luxurious. Not modern. Just a good place to sleep and that's it.

Cabins OK, but you should know...
The small cabins looked quaint, clean, and appeared to have recently refurbished plumbing. However, because of a power failure that was beyond the owner's control, I did not stay the night. It would have been nice if the owner had offered flashlights rather than have me hunt him down and ask. It would have been nice for him to check up on as and ask how we were doing, since we had to sit at a picnic table outside, battling mosquitos. He eventually offered a refund, as at 9pm there was still no power and we desired to stay at a local motel. However, after 12 days and no credit on my Visa, I emailed him and got no response. Twice. So, I had to file a complaint to PayPal and have credit given.
And that's what I wanted to let everyone know. I made the reservation via Hotels.com and secured the stay using my Visa. The card was not to be charged until I arrived. Within 12 hours, I got an email from the owner informing me that he does not take credit cards and only uses PayPal. I would have to pay up front. I wasn't able to respond right away and in 24 hours I got another email informing me my reservation would be cancelled at day's end. I tried informing Hotels.com that he wasn't honoring the terms posted, but they didn't seem to care. So, the cabins seemed ok, but know before you go the terms and how the owner handles things.
Stay at a hotel or camp in the park. The man running place and his kid are wonderfully welcoming and helpful, but the cabins are just a small step up from shacks. The shower was weaker than a drizzle, the remote for the ancient tv didn't work, the wifi signal was too weak to stay connected, and there's only a heater in the bathroom. Wish I could rate the place higher, but they need to do quite a few upgrades to make it worth a stay.
A great place to stay. Nothing fancy, just an exceptionally clean cabin with a comfortable bed. Exactly what we needed and would definitely stay here again

Quaint
Clean room with limited space. Met my needs for the week. Great water pressure in the shower with plentiful hot water.
Having arrived after dark, it was a little challenging trying to figure out where to go to check in (since there's no specific office). Once that issue was determined, the owners were friendly and pleasant. The cabin was very clean, warm, comfortable, and suited our needs perfectly for the one night.

Quaint old fashioned cabins
Reminiscent of 1930s auto court. Very clean with cozy warm duvet. Would have given a much higher rating except the tiny on demand water heater lasts about 3 mins tops and there is no lamp reachable from the bed.
My stay was terrible. It was 25-30 degrees and our room heater did not work. The cabin has no insulation and the bathroom window did not shut. It was basically a shed with windows cut out and Sheetrock thrown on top of the walls. The toilet handle fell off with every flush. The down comforter was stained. Overall it was terrible

Great owner, great price, not-so-great amenities
First, the positives:
1. Excellent owner and neighborhood. Really does not get any better. The owner really does everything he can.
2. Really low price; cheaper than a motor lodge.
Now, the negatives:
1. Really small room and cheap amenities makes it look like a third world motel room
2. The 'cabin' is basically a small mobile home on a dried out lawn on a residential street. There is no view or ambiance to enjoy. The park is 20 miles away.

Spotless, comfy and friendly
Spotless cabins, everything neat and clean and cheerful and smelling fresh. Beds comfy, bedding impeccable, cozy comforters when the night got chilly. Homemade muffins with fresh-picked wild blueberries were unexpected and tasty. Great customer service - late arrival at 11 pm was no problem, light was left on in our cabin with a sticky note with our name and a welcome. The proprietor swung by in the morning and was friendly and helpful. So much better than the rough and outdated housekeeping cabins we had kind of expected. Quiet, woodsy setting. Kudos to the owners and thank you!
