Great location! It was very easy to get to the pools, restaurants, beach, and boardwalk. Several grocery stores were a little far away and not convenient to walk to, but easy to drive to. It's literally a few meters to the highway.
While the main pools were very nice and were technically open, they were unfortunately way too cold to use. It was nice that there was a heated "adults only" pool as well, but they allowed kids during our stay because the other ones were basically unusable.
The apartment itself was nice enough, very open, airy, and had a spectacular view. The floor attracted dirt like crazy though and made walking around barefoot very uncomfortable. The furnishings were also cheap Ikea stuff, so not very comfortable (chairs, beds), nice (laundry machine, cookware) or even safe (kitchen knives). Honestly, it was about what you'd expect for an average for-profit short term rental.
The proprietary check-in and communication portal just screams "phishing attempt" and is very risky to follow-up with. I would expect them to utilize the platform on which the location was booked (VRBO in this case). Once the check-in was completed though, getting into the unit was super easy and the staff was very friendly.
So overall, while there were a couple of minor pain points, it was a nice stay and I would recommend it for anyone spending a week in the Malaga area.
